신입생 대상 학사경고 예방프로그램 효과성 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학 신입생 대상 학사경고 예방프로그램의 효과를 검증하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 K 대학 재학생으로 2019학년도에 한국교육개발원에서 진행한 NASEL(National Assessment of Student Engagement in Learning; 이하 NASEL) 조사에 응답한 833명이다. 학사경고 예방프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위해 교차분석과 로지스틱 회귀분석(logistic regression)을 실시하였다. 그 결과 학사경고 예방프로그램의 참여 여부가 1학년 1학기 학사경고 여부에 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않지만, 출결사항과 진로관련 면담의 내용에 따라 소속감과 만족감에 영향을 미쳐 1학년 1학기 학사경고를 낮추는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 교수와의 상호작용 목적에 따른 정책적인 지원, 교수 면담 내용의 전문성 제고, 학생 역량진단 문항과 그 결과의 활용에 대한 개선 과제를 제안하였다. 또한 후속 연구로 교수와의 상호작용에 대한 보다 세분화된 연구의 필요성 등을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to verify the effectiveness of the academic warning prevention program for university entrants. The subjects of the study included 833 students at K University who responded to the National Assessment of Student Engagement in Learning (NASEL) survey conducted by the Korean Educational Development Institute in the school year of 2019. The study analyzed the information on program completion and academic warnings combined with academic data. To examine the difference in the proportion of academic warnings according to the completion of the prevention program, cross-tabulation analysis was conducted. Also, to look into the effect of the program on academic warnings while controlling for the factors influencing academic warnings and achievements, logistic regression was performed. The analysis found that although participation in the academic warning prevention program did not have a direct impact on the academic warnings during the first term of the freshman year, the program influenced the students’ sense of belonging and satisfaction according to their attendance and career-related interviews, thereby lowering academic warnings during the first term of the freshman year. Based on these findings, the study discussed policy and academic implications on the program improvement.
