여대생의 신체이미지 만족도에 따른 체성분, 체형인식도 및 심리 상태에 대한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 여대생을 대상으로 신체이미지에 따른 체성분 분석과 체형인식도 및 심리 상태의 차이를 비교하고, 이러한 요인들 간의 상호 연관성에 대해 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 총 48명의 여대생을 대상으로 체형만족도평가(Body Shape Questionnaire, BSQ)와 신체만족도등급(Body Cathexis Scale, BCS) 설문조사를 실시하여, 조건을 충족하는 긍정적 신체이미지군 10명, 부정적 신체이미지군 11명을 연구 대상자로 선정하였다. 연구결과에서 긍정적 신체이미지군과 부정적 신체이미지군 간의 체성분 요인은 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 체형인식도 검사에서는 부정적 신체이미지군의 자각체형 점수가 긍정적 신체이미지군에 비해 유의하게 높게 나타난 반면(p<0.05), 이상체형에서는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 벡우울척도(BDI)에서는 부정적 신체이미지군의 점수가 긍정적 신체이미지군보다 유의하게 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 상관관계 분석에서는 긍정적 신체이미지군에서 체성분 요인과 체형인식도 점수는 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였으며(p<0.05), 부정적 신체이미지군에서 체질량지수와 BDI 사이에서 유의한 양의 상관관계가 확인되었다(p<0.05). 이러한 결과는 여대생 집단에서 긍정적 혹은 부정적 신체이미지가 체성분의 변화를 일으키지는 않았으나, 우울감 유발과 같은 심리상태에 영향을 끼칠 수 있으므로 이에 대한 조절 및 관리방안이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to compare the differences of body composition, body shape perception, and psychological state according to body image in healthy female college students, and to determine the correlation between these factors. Body Shape Questionnaire(BSQ) and Body Cathexis Scale(BCS) tests were conducted on a total 48 female college students. They were divided into positive(n=10) and negative body image(n=11) groups according to BSQ and BCS scores. As a result of study, there were no significant difference in body composition factors, ideal body type and score of Beck Anxiety Inventory(BAI) between positive and negative body image groups. Whereas, there were significant difference of the current self-awareness, and score of Beck Depression Inventory(BDI) between positive and negative body image groups(p<0.05). Body composition factors had a significant positive correlations with body perception in positive body image group(p<0.05). In addition, a significant positive correlation between body mass index and BDI was identified in the negative body image group(p<0.05). These results indicate that while positive or negative body images did not induce the changes in body composition, it could affect psychological conditions such as depression in female college students. Therefore, body image satisfaction is a critical factor for physical and psychological conditions in female college students.
