국문 초록

본 연구는 인터넷 도박 청소년의 금전동기와 미래 도박행동의 관계에서 비합리적 도박신념의 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 2016년 6월 7일~8월 4일(총 28일)까지 서울 및 경기지역의 인문계 고등학교 6곳에 재학 중이며 1회 이상 인터넷 도박을 해본 경험이 있는 남자 고등학생 444명을 연구대상으로 하여, 금전동기, 미래도박행동, 비합리적 도박신념 척도를 사용하여 조사하고, 기술통계와 상관분석, 연구모형에 대한 구조방정식 모형 검증을 실시하고 적합도를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 독립변인인 인터넷 도박 청소년의 금전동기, 종속변인인 미래 도박행동, 매개변인인 비합리적 도박신념 간에는 유의미한 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 금전동기와 비합리적 도박신념도 유의미한 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인터넷 도박 청소년의 금전동기와 미래 도박행동의 관계에서 비합리적 도박신념의 매개효과가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과는 청소년을 대상으로 하는 도박 예방 상담 및 교육에서 도박과 관련된 비합리적 도박신념을 수정하는 접근을 통하여 미래 도박행동을 예방할 수 있는 개입을 위한 기초자료를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of irrational gambling belief between monetary motivation and future gambling behavior of internet gambling adolescents. For this purpose, surveys were conducted by 444 male students who experienced internet gambling more than once at 6 academic high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, using an assessment battery consisting of the measures of monetary motivation, future gambling behavior, and irrational belief. Based on the collected data, descriptive statistic, correlation analysis, structure equation model test about model of this study, and goodness-of-fit test were performed. The results of this study are as follows. First, monetary motivation as a independent variable, future gambling behavior as a dependent variable, and irrational gambling belief as a mediator variable of internet gambling adolescents were found to have a significant positive correlation. In addition, monetary motivation and irrational gambling belief were found to have a significant positive correlation. Second, the mediating effect of irrational gambling belief between monetary motivation and future gambling behavior of internet gambling adolescents appeared to be significant. Based on overall findings, this study is significant in terms of providing basic information for intervention to prevent future gambling behavior through approaches to modify the irrational belief related to gambling in gambling prevention counseling and training for adolescents.
