우리나라 중학교 교과서에 나타난 저출산·고령화 내용 변화 양상 분석

국문 초록

목적 이 연구는 교육과정 변천에 따른 중학교 사회 교과서의 저출산·고령화 내용의 변화를 분석하기 위한 것이다. 방법 첫째, 저출산·고령화 내용의 외형적 구성 등 형식을 분석하기 위해 단원, 활동, 쪽수, 비율 등의 변화를 살펴보았으며, 둘째, 저출산·고령화에 대한 교과서 내용 구성을 분석하기 위해 배경과 요인, 대응 방안을 기준으로 특정 단원을 분석하였다. 결과 첫째. 교육과정의 개정이 거듭되면서 저출산·고령화 내용을 다루는 단원, 활동, 쪽수는 크게 증가하였다. 둘째, 저출산·고령화의 내용은 단편적인 배경과 원인, 추상적인 대응 방안을 제시하는데서 구체적이고 다양한 요소들과 방안들을 제시하는 방식으로 변화하였다. 결론 교과서의 저출산·고령화 내용들이 과거에 비해 양적으로 증가하고 내용 구성 또한 다양하게 서술되고 있음을 의미하지만 반대로 전체 교과서 내용 중 저출산·고령화 내용이 적절한 비중을 차지하고 있는지, 그리고 관련 내용들의 다양성 뿐만 아니라 적절성에 대해서도 재검토할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the change trends in the educational contents of low birth rate and population aging in Middle School textbooks of social studies with the revision of subject curriculum. Methods First, quantitative changes of educational contents such as the number of units, activities, and pages dealing with the contents of low birth rate and population aging were analyzed, and second, qualitative changes of educational contents regarding low birth rate and population aging were analyzed. Results First, as the curriculum was revised repeatedly, the number of units, activities, and pages dealing with the educational contents of low birth rate and population aging increased significantly. Second, the educational content of low birth rate and population aging has changed from the presentation of fragmentary backgrounds, causes, or abstract countermeasures to the presentation of systematic explanations including various causes and economic, social and cultural measures. Conclusions it is still problematic whether educational contents of low birth rate and population aging account for an appropriate portion of the entire textbook, and it needs to be studied further whether all the relevant causes and solutions are sufficiently dealt with in the school textbooks.
