텍스트마이닝과 토픽모델링을 활용한 ‘평생교육’ 기사 동향 분석(2018~2022)

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 국내 평생교육이 실제 현장에서 어떠한 담론을 형성하고 있는지 알아보기 위해 제4차 평생교육진흥 기본계획 시기(2018년~2022년) 동안 평생교육에 대한 언론 기사의 동향을 살펴보았다. 방법 이를 위해 뉴스 빅데이터 분석 시스템인 빅카인즈를 활용하여 2018년 1월 1일부터 2022년 7월 19일까지 ‘평생교육’ 또는 ‘평생학습’ 둘 중 하나의 단어를 포함하는 232건의 기사를 수집, 분석하였다. 자료 분석을 위해서 텍스톰(Textom)을 활용하였으며, 텍스트마이닝과 토픽모델링 분석을 진행하였다. 결과 분석 결과 평생교육과 관련된 기사는 매년 증가하였고 예상치 못했던 COVID-19로 인한 교육환경 변화에 대해 유연한 대응을 한 것으로 확인하였다. 한편 평생교육 관련 기사에서 추출된 주요 토픽은 ‘대학의 평생교육’, ‘장애인을 위한 지역사회 평생교육’, ‘중년의 노후 대비, 노년의 학력 보완 기회 확대’, ‘평생교육방법의 혁신’, ‘평생교육의 체계적 관리’로 총 5개의 토픽으로 나타났다. 결론 언론 기사를 분석하면서 연구 대상에서 제외한 기사들의 내용을 살펴보면 평생교육이나 평생학습을 단순히 정책이나 사업의 좋은 수식어로 사용되는 경향이 있었다. 평생교육을 긍정적인 이미지로 인식되는 것은 좋은 현상이나 향후 평생교육의 본질과 그 가치가 올바르게 확산되기 위해서는 무분별한 오남용은 경계해야 할 것이다. 또한 향후 청년에 대한 평생교육 정책과 사업의 필요성을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study examined the trends of media articles on lifelong education during the 4th Master Plan for Lifelong Education Promotion to find out what kind of discourse domestic lifelong education actually forms in the field. To this end. Methods To this end, 232 articles were collected and analyzed using Big Kines, a news big data analysis system. Textom was used for data analysis, and text mining and topic modeling were performed. Results As a result of topic modeling analysis, a total of five topics were derived: ‘Lifelong education in universities’, ‘Community lifelong education for the Disabled’, ‘To prepare for middle-aged retirement and expand opportunities to supplement the educational background of old age, ‘Innovation in the way of lifelong education’, and ‘Systematic management of lifelong education’. Conclusions when analyzing media articles and looking at the contents of articles excluded from the study, lifelong education or lifelong learning tended to be simply used as a good modifier for policies or projects. Recognizing lifelong education as a positive image is a good phenomenon, but reckless misuse should be wary in order for the nature and value of lifelong education to spread correctly in the future. It also suggested the necessity of lifelong education policies and projects for young people in the future.
