인공지능과 인간의 역동적 관계 형성을 위한 교육 패러다임 전환 탐색

국문 초록

목적 이 연구에서는 과학기술학(STS)의 이론적 개념을 통하여 인공지능 중등교육 교과서에 담긴 기술결정론 등 근대과학의 편향 문제를 분석하고자 한다. 방법 본 연구는 크게 (1) 인공지능 교육에 대한 대중적 인식 조사와 (2) 현행 고등학교 인공지능 교과서의 내용 분석으로 진행되었다. 대중적 인식에 대해서는 설문조사 방식을 적용했고 교과서 분석에 대해서는 질적 분석을 적용했다. 결과 인공지능 교과서 분석을 통해서 인공지능 교과서에 나타난 (1) 기술결정론 (2) 젠더 편향과 노동 편향 (3) 윤리적으로 위험한 내용을 확인할 수 있었다. 이들 편향과 위험은 인공지능과 인간의 관계를 이분법적으로 가르고 경제적인 측면으로 제한하며, 양자가 유연하고 역동적 관계로 나아가는 것을 방해하여 결국 혐오하는 관계로 만들 수 있다. 결론 우리 사회는 과학기술 교과서를 직업 교육 용도에만 한정하는 경향이 있다. 미래세대는 정보/데이터/인공지능이 일반화된 조건에서 살면서 예상하지 못한 상황에 직면할 것이다. 인공지능 교과과정의 주요 목표는 단지 직업 교육이 아니라 시민 교육이 되어야 한다. 인공지능 시대에 시민은 단순히 수동적 노동자 또는 소비자가 아니라 역동적이고 참여적인 사용자(주체)가 되어야 한다. 이에 부합하도록 현재 인공지능 교과서와 교육과정에 대한 추가적인 진단과 개선이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to analyze the bias problem of modern science, such as technological determinism contained in artificial intelligence secondary education textbooks, through the theoretical concept of Science and Technology Studies (STS). Methods This study was largely conducted by (1) the survey of public perception of artificial intelligence education and (2) the analysis of contents of current high school artificial intelligence textbooks. A survey method was applied for public perception, and a qualitative analysis was applied for textbook analysis. Results Through the analysis of artificial intelligence textbooks, it was possible to examine (1) technological determinism, (2) gender bias and labor bias, and (3) ethically dangerous contents in artificial intelligence textbooks. These biases and risks divide the relationship between artificial intelligence and human actors in a dichotomous way and limit it to economic aspects, and in the end will prevent a dynamic relationship of both and lead to a rigid or hate. Conclusions Our society tends to limit science & technology textbooks to vocational education use only. Future generations will face unexpected situations while living in conditions where information/data/artificial intelligence are generalized. The main goal of AI curricula should be for civic education, not just only for job-seeking. Citizens in the era of artificial intelligence should be dynamic and participatory users (subjects), not simply passive labors or consumers. In line with this, additional diagnosis and improvement of current artificial intelligence textbooks and curricula are needed.
