대학생의 환경소양 관련 변인의 특성 탐색 및 계열과 성별에 따른 차이 분석

국문 초록

목적 이 연구에서는 대학생의 환경기능, 환경정서, 환경행동 차원 특성을 탐색함으로써 환경교육의 설계 및 운영을 위한 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 방법 환경기능, 환경정서, 환경행동의 세 차원으로 구성된 검사 도구를 구성하였다. 이때 환경정서 차원은 환경태도와 환경기대, 환경행동 차원은 환경실천과 환경참여의 하위 범주로 구성된다. 경기도 소재의 대학생 57명을 대상으로 검사 도구를 적용한 후 결과를 수집하였다. 범주별 문항에 대한 응답, 범주 간 상관관계, 계열 및 성별에 따른 응답 차이를 분석하였다. 결과 범주별 응답을 분석한 결과 정서차원 중 환경태도가 다른 범주에 비하여 상대적으로 높은 값을 나타냈다. 범주 간 상관관계에서는 정서차원의 두 범주인 환경기능과 환경태도 간에 상관이 나타났다. 또한 기능차원과 행동차원의 범주 간에 상관이 나타났으며, 정서차원과 행동차원의 범주 간에도 상관이 나타났다. 계열별 차이로는 인문사회계열이 이공계열에 비해 정서차원 중 환경태도가 높았으며 성별 차이로는 여학생이 남학생에 비해 행동차원 중 환경참여가 높게 나타났다. 결론 연구 결과를 토대로 환경기능, 환경정서, 환경행동 차원을 균형있게 고려한 환경교육 방안을 제안하고 환경교육의 설계 및 운영을 위한 교수학적 방안을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives In this study, the university students’ characteristics about environmental skills, environmental affection, and environmental behavior were explored to derive implications for the design and practice of environmental education. Methods The survey consists of three dimensions of environmental skills, environmental affection, and environmental behavior. The environmental affection dimension consists of subcategories of environmental attitudes and environmental hope, and the environmental behavior dimension consists of subcategories of environmental practice and environmental participation. The survey was conducted to 57 university students in Gyeonggi-do, and the results were collected. Responses to questions by category, correlation between categories, differences in responses by major, and by gender were analyzed. Results As a results of analyzing the responses by category, environmental attitude in the environmental affection dimension, showed a relatively high value compared to other categories. In terms of correlation between categories, correlations were found between the two categories in affection dimensions, between the categories in skill and behavior dimensions, as well as between categories in affection and behavior dimensions. In terms of differences by major, the students majoring in humanities and social science showed higher levels of environmental attitude in the affection dimension than those majoring in science and engineering, and female students showed higher levels of environmental participation in the behavior dimension than male students did. Conclusions Based on the results, an environmental education considering environmental skill, environmental affection, and environmental behavior in a balanced way was proposed, and a pedagogical suggestions for the design and practice of environmental education was discussed.
