대학 교양 수업에서 탄뎀을 적용한 수업 사례 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 대학의 교양 교육에서 외국인 유학생과 한국학생이 함께 수업을 할 수 있는 탄뎀 수업의 과정과 내용을 논의하고자 한다. 또한 탄뎀형 교과목을 개발하고 학습자들의 만족도 조사와 주관식 답변 등을 참고하여 그 효과를 검증해 보고자 한다. 방법 본 연구를 위한 수업은 2022년 1학기에 진행되었고, 중간시험과 기말시험 및 보강 주를 제외하고 총 12주 동안 수업을 진행하였다. B대학교의 탄뎀 수업을 수강한 외국어 유학생과 한국인 학습자를 대상으로 수업을 진행하였다. 2022년 1학기 수업에 참여한 유학생은 10명, 한국인 학습자 10명으로 모두 20명을 대상으로 1대1의 매칭을 통하여 학습자들이 스스로 학습계획서를 설계하도록 하였다. 결과 외국인 유학생과 한국학생에 있어서 탄뎀 수업은 교수의 일방적인 강의에서 벗어나 학생들의 자기주도학습으로 진행될 수 있다. 학습자가 스스로 관심이 가고 흥미가 있는 내용들을 스스로 계획함으로 학습하고자 하는 의욕을 상기시킬 수 있었다. 따라서 탄뎀 학습은 학습자가 스스로 학습하는 데 있어 주도권을 가지고 학습의 필요성을 인지하고 목표를 설정하며 학습 전략을 세워 진행할 수 있는 능력을 키울 수 있었다. 결론 본 연구는 교양교육 과정에서 한국학생과 외국인 유학생의 협동할 수 있는 교수방안으로 탄뎀 수업을 제시하고 실제로 운영하여 그 시사점을 마련한 것에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives In this research, we developed a collaboration course between foreign students and Korean students in the liberal arts courses for foreigners, and this is a case report that we conducted this for one semester. Methods This study introduces tandem class as a case of a class for improving intercultural communicative competence. Tandem class is a class that applies tandem language learning in which a group of two people of different mother tongues gets together to learn each other’s language. In tandem class, foeign student and Korean student have one on one, face-to-face session to directly experience the target language and culture therefore it is the most proper teaching/learning method to improve intercultural communication competence. This study examines the trend of intercultural communication competence of 6 foreign students and 6 Korean students who took tandem classes 1 semester: how tandem classes were managed: and much the student improved and were satisfied. Results In this research As a result of satisfaction, over 90% of students are satisfied of this tandem program. Therefore, tandem curriculum is developed and operated by the nationality or language area. Conclusions It will increase the satisfaction of college life of foreign students and reduce the halfway dropouts, as well as provide a global mindset for Korean students.
