한 자녀 부모의 후속출산 관련 요인에 관한 체계적 문헌고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 체계적 문헌고찰를 활용하여 한 자녀 부모의 후속출산 관련 연구동향을 살피고 후속출산 관련 주요 변인을 분석하였다. 연구대상은 국내 주요 데이터베이스에 검색된 후속출산 관련 연구물 중 연구목적에 따라 선별되고 전문 검토과정을 거쳐 선정된 총 23편이었다. 연구결과, 첫째, 후속출산 관련 연구는 2000년대 중후반부터 2020년 6월까지 사회과학 및 교육학 전반에서 1, 2차 자료를 활용하여 횡단 및 종단연구가 이루어지고 있었다. 둘째, 후속출산의 개념은 후속출산의 계획과 실제 출산행동을 모두 포함하고 있으며 출산행동에 비해서 계획을 다룬 연구가 빈번하게 진행되고 있다. 셋째, 후속출산 관련 변인은 인구학적 특성, 자녀 특성, 심리적 특성, 사회적 특성으로 분류하였다. 인구학적 특성은 개인적 요인, 경제적 요인, 양육 요인으로 구분되어 하위요인을 포함하여 총 9개 요인이 도출되었다. 자녀 특성은 첫째 자녀의 연령, 성별, 기질의 3개 요인으로 구분하였다. 심리적 특성은 어머니 요인, 부부 요인, 양육 요인 별 하위요인을 포함하여 총 10개 요인을 도출하였다. 마지막으로, 사회적 특성은 돌봄 요인, 직장 요인, 정책 요인 별 하위요인을 포함하여 총 8개 요인을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

A systematic review was conducted to examine research trends and analyze related factors on additional childbirth of parents with one child in Korea. Relevant studies were searched through the major databases and selected twenty three articles for further analyses. As results, studies on the second childbirth of parents with one child have been conducted since the mid 2000 and has dramatically increased from 2011 to 2016 with the government’s policy response to low fertility and population aging in Korea. Studies on the second childbirth include both parents’ plan for additional childbirth and the childbirth itself. From the review, this study categorized all the related factors to four major factors: demographical, first-child-related, psychological, and social. Among demographical variables, mothers’ age, family income, and the level of childrearing expenditure. Marital status, values regarding children, mothers’ parenting stress and fathers’ participation in parenting and housework were also crucial psychological factors. Social factors such as social care services, human resources for child care, governmental policies of childbirth and child raising support benefits were referenced among social factors. Based on these findings, this study proposes that higher sense of gender equality in family and social respects on parents and raising children could effect on the parents intention of having more children.
