초상화법을 활용한 마이스터 고등학생의 학업 중단 위기 극복 과정 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 ‘마이스터고’라는 독특한 환경 안에서 학업 중단위기를 겪고 있는 연구참여자들이 학교생활에서 발생하는 스트레스에 적응하고, 극복해 나가는 주요 과정의 통합적 측면을 이해하고자 하였다. 연구자는 초상화법을 적용하여 3명의 연구참여자를 대상으로 9월 14일부터 11월 16일까지 동반자적 관계를 유지하면서 심층면담을 3회 실시하였고 12월26일까지 자료를 분석하였다. 연구자는 화상 회의와 SNS 메신저를 이용하여 면담을 진행하였고, 녹화 동영상과 메신저를 통해 나눈 대화를 반복적으로 보면서 연구참여자들의 표정과 인용구를 분석하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 학업중단의 위기를 극복하는 과정에서 중요한 역할을 하는 연구참여자들이 가진 공통적인 요소를 발견할 수 있었다. 마이스터고 학생들은 적응에 관련된 문제가 없어 보이는 학생들도 학업중단 위기를 겪고 있을 가능성이 크다. 하지만 전공에 대한 열정과 미래에 대한 목표, 또래 지지, 담임교사의 관심은 학업중단 위기를 극복할 수 있는 기반인 적응유연성의 주요 내적 자원으로 작용하고 있었다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 결과를 기반으로 해서 학업중단 위기를 겪고 있는 마이스터고 학생들을 위한 실천적 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study is aimed to understand a holistic view of the major processes how participants suffering from a crisis of dropping out of school are adapting to and overcoming the stress in the unique school environment of Meister High School. The researchers interpreted the data until December 26 by conducting in-depth interviews three times while maintaining a partnership with participants in the research period of from the 14th of September to the 16th of November this year, by applying a portraiture method. In-depth interviews were carried out by video conferencing and SNS messengers, and the expressions and quotes of each of participants were analyzed by repeatedly watching videos recorded and conversations collected through Zoom and messenger. Through collecting and interpreting processes, four common factors were found to contribute to overcoming a crisis of dropping out of school in the participants. Students at Meister High School are likely to face a crisis of dropping out of school, even if they do not seem to have any problems with school adjustment. However, enthusiasm for the major, goals for the future, peer support, and concern of homeroom teachers were serving as major internal/external resources for resilience, leading to overcoming the crisis of dropping out of school. Finally, based on the results of this paper, educational suggestions were provided for students at Meister High School, probably in the mid of crisis of dropping out of school.
