국문 초록

본 연구에서는 아동 중심 수업과 초등학교 1학년 아동의 학교적응 관계에서 교사효능감의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 육아정책연구소(KICCE)의 한국아동패널(PSKC) 8차년도(2015년) 교사와 만6세 시점인 아동의 데이터 중 결측치를 제외한 총 1,031명의 자료를 SPSS Statistics 18.0과 PROCESS MACRO를 이용하여 매개 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 아동 중심 수업은 교사의 효능감과 유의미한 정적인 상관관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 교사의 효능감이 높을수록 초등학교 1학년 아동의 학교 적응에 도움이 되었다. 셋째, 아동이 주체가 되는 교사의 수업방법인 아동 중심 수업은 교사의 효능감을 높여 초등학교 1학년 아동의 초기 학교적응에 긍정적인 영향력을 미치는 것이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 유⋅초 교육이 연계되어 아동이 중심이 되는 수업을 지향하고, 의무교육을 처음 시작하는 아동의 학교 적응에 미치는 영향력을 교사효능감과 연관 지어 시사점을 제공한다는 데에 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

This study explored the mediating effect of teacher efficacy on the relationship between child centered class and elementary school first graders’ adjustment in school. For this, a mediation analysis was conducted using SPSS 18.0 and Process Macro with data from a total of 1,031 teachers and six-year-old children. The participants were part of the 8th(2015) Panel Study on Korean Children(PSKC) of the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education(KICCE). Data with missing values are excluded. The results of the study are as follows. First, child centered class showed a significant positive correlation with teachers’ efficacy. Second, the higher the teacher s efficacy, the more helpful it was for first graders to adjust in school. Third, child centered classes, which is a teaching method where children are the principal agents of learning, increased teachers’ efficacy. Thus, it was confirmed that child centered classes exerted a positive influence on elementary school first graders’ adjustment to school. This study is meaningful in that it provides implications of the positive effect of child centered classes, and linking the influence of teacher efficacy with school adaptation of children who first start compulsory education.
