대학원생들의 온라인 학업적응과정

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생원들의 온라인 학습경험에 대한 적응과정에서 어떤 특징적인 모습을 보여주는가를 제시함으로써 온라인으로 진행되는 대학원수업에서 학습자들에 대한 이해를 높이기 위한 준거를 제공하고자 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 온라인 학업수행중인 대학원생 7명을 대상으로 하여 질적 연구를 수행하였다. 연구목적에 적합하다고 판단되는 대상을 선정하기 위하여 의도적 표집방법에 따라 참여자를 선정하여 심층면담을 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 질적연구 분석 절차에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 대학원생들의 온라인 학습적응과정의 중심현상은 ‘불안함, 답답함, 고립감으로 인한 부정적 시선’인 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 대학원생들의 온라인 학업적응과 관련한 범주들 간의 관계를 통합적으로 설명할 수 있는 핵심범주는 ‘일당백을 해야 하는 새로운 학업 플랫폼 만들기, 지쳐감’, ‘우연한 경험을 통한 구심점을 가진 안정적 노력, 긍정성’, 이며, 장기화되는 온라인 강의에서 학업에 대한 기대는 3개의 유형으로 막연하게 대면강의를 바라는 유형, 현실적으로 대면강의가 당분간 어려울 것이라 냉정하게 판단하여 대학원 학업의 목표설정을 변화하는 유형, 학업이외에 할 수 있는 활동이 줄어들어 연구에 더욱 몰입하는 적응적 수용파 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 대학원생들이 온라인 학습 환경에 적합한 교육프로그램을 구안하기 위한 학생 이해의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to provide a criterion for enhancing the understanding of learners in online graduate school classes by suggesting what characteristics they show in the process of adaptation to the online learning experiences of college students. To this end, in this study, a qualitative study was conducted on 7 graduate students who are conducting online studies. In order to select subjects deemed suitable for the purpose of the study, participants were selected according to the intentional sampling method, and in-depth interviews were conducted. The data were analyzed according to the qualitative research analysis procedure. The research results are as follows. The central phenomenon of the online learning adaptation process of graduate students was found to be ‘negative gaze due to anxiety, frustration, and isolation’. In addition, the core categories that can comprehensively explain the relationship between the categories related to online academic adaptation of graduate students are ‘creating a new academic platform where you need to do a daily job, getting tired’, and ‘stable effort with a central point through accidental experiences, positivity’. In the long-term online lectures, there are three types of expectation for study: the type that vaguely desires face-to-face lectures, and the type that changes the goal setting of graduate school study by coldly judging that face-to-face lectures will be difficult for a while. It turns out that there are adaptive audiences who are more immersed in research due to fewer activities. Based on these research results, graduate students can be used as basic data for student understanding to design educational programs suitable for online learning environments.
