국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 사회과 실천적 통합의 정당성과 그 의미를 밝히고, 기존의 사회과 통합관이 가진 한계를 극복하기 위한 초등학교 사회과의 실천적 통합교육의 원리를 제시하는 데 있다. 기존의 사회과 통합 담론은 기본적으로 사회과 지식의 구조에 기반을 둠으로써 실천 세계와의 소통과 보다 더 생산성 있는 통합 담론으로의 확장에 한계를 갖고 있었다. 이러한 한계를 넘어서는 것은 우선 실천 세계가 사회과 구조적 지식보다 존재론적으로 더 선차적인 세계이며 구조의 무한한 여백이 존재하는 문 제의 장임을 확인하는 데 있다. 실천적 사회과 통합은 지식 구조의 전체성보다 사회과 내외적 요소들과의 연결의 가치를 우선시하고 범교과적이고 미시적 규모에서의 연결을 중시한다. 또한 사회과 실천적 통합은 그것이 연결되기 전의 것과 다른 새로 운 지식 내러티브나 수업을 창출해낸다는 점에서 생산성을 가진다. 사회과 실천적 통합을 위해 초등학교 교사는 가급적 같은 학년 또는 학년군을 여러 해 중임함으로써 교육과정에 대한 실천적 경험을 축적할 필요가 있고, 교사 스스로 사회과를 전경 으로 하여 다양한 요소들과의 연결을 통해 자신의 지식을 확장하고 이를 교육과정과 연결하여 관련된 자료를 모아나가는 노력을 해야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to clarify the legitimacy and the meaning of practical integration in Social Studies education of elementary school and to explore the principles of practical integration to overcome the limitation of existing integration in Social Studies. There are limitations on making connections with practical real-worlds and on extending to the discourses of more productive integration because existing discourses of integration in Social Studies education are basically based on the structure of knowledge of Social Studies. Practical real-worlds are the foundations of structural knowledge of Social Studies in the ontological dimension and there are many latent things which go beyond the bound of structural knowledge. These ideas are the starting points for going beyond the limitations of existing discourses of integration in Social Studies education. Practical integration in Social Studies education places the worth of connections with elements from inside and outside of Social Studies above the completion of knowledge structure and attaches importance to the connections on a small scale and in cross-curricula. Practical integration in Social Studies education has productivity because it creates the new and different knowledge narratives and flows of Social Studies class. It is necessary for elementary school teachers to accumulate the practical experiences of curriculum for practical integration in Social Studies education by teaching one or two grades for many years. And it is necessary for teachers to expand their knowledge by connecting to various resources and to make an effort to collect the data which can be used in integrated Social Studies education.
