학생의 퀀텀점프 성장을 위한 대학의 마스터키 융합교육 전략

국문 초록

목적 학업역량이 점차 하락되고 있는 지역 사립대학에서 학생들을 퀀텀점프 성장시키고 졸업 후 여러 가지 직업에 도전할 수 있도록 신입생의 기초학업역량을 강화시키고 여러 가지 전공을 탐색한 후 수월하게 도전할 수 있는 혁신적인 융합교육 방안을 세우고 이를 대학에서 바로 적용할 수 있도록 구체적인 실행 방안을 수립한다. 방법 선행연구인 설문조사 결과를 통해 얻은 융합교육 활성화를 위한 학생들의 내부 요구사항과 지역 사립대학의 현실 및 마스터키 교육의 필요성, 그리고 국내 대학에서의 소전공 학위과정 도입 확산 추세 등의 외부 요인을 반영하여 대학에서 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 구체적인 융합교육 전략을 단계별로 제시한다. 결과 학생을 퀀텀점프 성장시킬 수 있는 마스트키 융합교육의 전략 단계는 첫째, 융합대학을 신설하여 융합교육 플랫폼 역할을 담당하게 하고, 둘째, 중고등과정을 복습하여 신입생의 기초학업 역량을 강화하는 교과목을 신설하고, 셋째, 각 학과의 핵심 내용을 비전공자에게 쉽게 가르쳐줌으로써 다양한 전공을 탐색하게 하고, 넷째, 하나 이상의 학과에서 공통된 교육목표를 가진 교과목을 조합하여 소규모 교육과정인 ‘융합모듈’을 구성하고 이를 이수한 학생에게 나노디그리를 수여하고, 다섯째, 대학, 학생, 지역기업이 각자 필요에 따라 여러 가지 융합모듈을 조합하여 다양한 융합전공을 개설하는 것이다. 결론 마스트키 융합교육 전략을 통해 융합교육을 새롭게 도입하거나 기존 방식에 큰 변화를 주려고 하는 대학에서 현재의 교육과정 개편을 최소로 하면서 곧바로 적용이 가능한 효과적인 융합교육 방안을 세울 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to establish a convergence education plan to quantum jump students from local private universities whose academic capabilities are gradually declining, to nurture them into talented individuals who can take on various challenges after graduation, and to establish detailed strategies to implement them. Methods Reflecting the internal needs of students for activating convergence education obtained through the survey results of previous research and external factors such as the situation of local private universities, the need for master key education, and the trend of introduction of minor degree in domestic universities, specific convergence education strategies that can be effectively applied in universities are presented step by step. Results The strategic steps of master-key convergence education proposed in this study are: 1. Using the convergence university as a convergence education platform. 2. Strengthening the basic academic capabilities of freshmen by reviewing middle and high school courses. 3. Exploring various majors by easily teaching non-majors the core contents of each department. 4. Opening a small-scale curriculum called ‘convergence module’ by combining subjects with common educational goals from one or more departments, and awarding nano-degree to students who complete it. 5. Universities, students and/or local companies create numerous convergence majors by combining various convergence modules according to their individual needs. Conclusions Through the master-key convergence education strategies proposed in this study, universities aiming to newly introduce convergence education or make significant changes in existing curriculum can establish effective convergence education plans that can be immediately implemented with minimal reorganization of the current curriculum.
