유치원 아동어머니의 양육태도와 양육효능감이 자녀의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서 유치원 아동어머니의 정서표현수용태도 정도별로 양육태도, 양육효능감이 자녀의 사회적유능감에 미치는 영향을 살펴 유치원 아동의 사회적 유능감을 높이는 방안을 모색하는데 있다. 방법 D시, K도 소재 유치원 아동어머니 270명을 대상으로 하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 27.0 프로그램을 이용하여 각 변인간의 상관관계분석, 변인간의 차이를 살펴보기 위하여 일원배치분산과 변인의 영향관계를 살펴보기 위하여 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 유치원 아동어머니의 양육태도와 양육효능감, 자녀의 사회적유능감은 5점 Likert척도에서 평균점수 3점 이상이었으며, 어머니의 정서표현수용태도 정도에 따른 차이 검증결과 양육효능감에서 유의미한 차이가 나타나, 정서표현수용태도가 ‘상, 중’인 경우가 ‘하’인 경우보다 양육효능감이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 상관관계 연구결과, 어머니의 양육태도의 거부는 정서표현수용태도와 양욱효능감 전체와 자녀의 사회적유능감의 훈육, 주장, 협력과 부적(-)상관을 보였다. 셋째, 사회인구학적 특성별로 자녀의 사회적유능감에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 유의미한 차이를 보인 결혼기간을 통제변수로 하고, 정서표현수용태도 정도를 상, 중, 하로 나누어 양육태도, 양육효능감이 자녀의 사회적유능감에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 상의 그룹에서는 결혼기간, 양육효능감이, 중의 그룹에서는 결혼기간, 양육태도, 양육효능감이 자녀의 사회적유능감에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 하의 그룹에서는 모든 변인에서 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았으며, 각각의 설명력이 35%. 32%, 11%로 나타났다. 따라서 어머니의 정서표현수용태도가 높을수록 어머니가 가지는 양육효능감이 자녀의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향이 큼을 알 수 있다. 결론 유치원 아동 어머니의 정서표현수용태도는 어머니의 긍정적 양육태도, 양육효능감에 영향을 미치는 요인이며, 어머니의 양육태도, 양육효능감과 함께 자녀의 사회적유능감에 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 자녀의 사회적유능감을 향상시키기 위해서 어머니의 자녀에 대한 정서표현수용 정도를 높이는 것이 필요하며, 긍정적 양육태도와 양육효능감을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육의 중요성 및 상담프로그램의 개발의 필요성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives Our objectives were to assess the effects of mothers’ parenting attitudes and parenting efficacies on children’s social competence by the level of their attitude toward children’s emotional expression, and find a way to enhance social competence. Methods Our research targeted 270 mothers of kindergarteners in D city and K province, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0 to examine the correlation among each variable. Also, one-way ANOVA was used to identify the difference among the variables, and multiple regression analysis was used to examine variables’ interrelations. Results First, the mothers’ parenting attitude, parenting efficacy, and the children’s social competence had an average score of 3 or higher on a 5-point Likert scale. It was found that parenting efficacy showed a significant difference: parenting efficacy was higher when the attitude toward emotional expression was ‘high, medium’ than in the case of ‘low’. As a result of correlation analysis, mothers’ rejection as a parenting attitude showed a negative correlation with attitude toward emotional expressions and parenting efficacy at every level. Third, with the length of the marriage, which showed the most significant difference as a result of examining the effect of sociodemographic characteristics on children’s social competence, used as a control variable, we analyzed three levels of the effect of the mothers’ attitude toward emotional expressions-high, medium, low-on their parenting attitude and parenting efficacy. The result was that the length of marriage and parenting efficacy in the high group, the length of the marriage, parenting attitude, and parenting efficacy in the medium group showed significant influence on children’s social competence. The low group was not statistically significant with every variable, and the explanation power for each of the levels was 35%, 32%, and 11%. Therefore, it can be seen that the higher the mothers’ attitude toward children’s emotional expression, the greater the effect of their parenting efficacy on the children’s social competence. Conclusions The mothers’ attitude toward children’s emotional expressions is a factor that influences the mothers’ positive parenting attitude and parenting efficacy, and affects the children’s social competence along with the two factors. In conclusion, to enhance children’s social competence, it is required to improve mothers’ attitudes toward children’s emotional expressions, and the necessity of developing educations and therapy programs that foster mothers’ positive parenting attitudes and parenting efficacy is suggested.
