국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 알파 세대 유아의 특징을 유아 교사들의 인식을 통해 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 알파 세대에 대한 선행연구 분석 및 유아교육 전문가와의 사전면담을 통해 알파 세대 유아의 특징을 탐색하기 위한 설문 문항을 개발하였으며, 경기도 소재 사립유치원 유아교사 216명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하여 분석하였다. 결과 분석 결과, 개인 특성에서는 알파 세대 유아의 자기중심적 태도에 대한 일관된 응답 결과가 나타났으며, 관계 특성에서는 높은 부모 의존도 및 교우 관계에 있어서의 다소 부정적 특성이 확인되었다. 학습 특성에서는 낮은 집중력과 높은 IT 활용 능력 및 선호도가 나타났다. 또한, 직책이 높거나 경력이 많을수록, 담임이 아닌 경우 혹은 자녀를 가지고 있는 경우에 해당되는 교사들은 알파 세대 유아에 대해 상대적으로 부정적 인식을 나타냈다. 결론 본 연구는 국내 맥락에서 알파 세대 유아의 특징을 파악하는 최초의 연구라는 점에서 의의를 가지며, 추후 알파 세대의 특징을 반영한 교육방안을 모색하기 위한 기초자료로써 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to explore the characteristics of the alpha generation through the perception of kindergarten teachers. Methods The questionnaire was developed to explore the characteristics of child in alpha generation through prior research analysis on alpha generation and preliminary FGI interviews with early childhood education experts, and survey was conducted on 216 kindergarten teachers in private kindergartens in Gyeonggi-do. Results As a result of analysis, consistent response results to the ‘self-centered attitude’ of the alpha generation were found in individual characteristics, and high parental dependence and negative characteristics in friendship were confirmed in relationship characteristics. In terms of learning characteristics, low concentration, high IT utilization ability, and preference were found. In addition, the higher the position or more experience, and teachers who are not homeroom teachers or have children showed relatively more negative perception of the alpha generation. Conclusions This study is significant in that it is the first study to explore the characteristics of the alpha generation in the context of early childhood education in Korea, and it is expected to be used as basic research to find an implication on the educational policy reflecting the characteristics of the alpha generation in the future.
