국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 명리학의 질병론을 활용한 선행연구를 검토하여 명리학의 질병론이 현대 사회에서 적용될 수있는 것인가에 대한 타당성을 연구하고자 하는 것이다. 명리학의 질병론은 사주팔자를 인체의 氣로 파악하고 사주팔자를 통해 건강의 상태를 추론한 것으로 전통 의학에서 음양오행의 원리를 바탕으로 질병을 진단하고 처방하던것을 응용한 것이라고 할 수 있다. 사주팔자가 개인 신체의 氣를 어느 정도는 대변할 수 있겠지만, 타고난 체질이나 氣力의 차원에서 논한 것이지질병 자체를 논할 수 있는 것은 아니다. 특히 유전으로 인한 선천적 질병이나 선천적 장애의 문제를 팔자에서 찾아 논하는 것은 자칫 迷信을 양산할 수도 있으며, 명리학에 무지한 일반인들에게 큰 상처를 줄 수도 있는 위험한발상이다. 이러한 과정은 명리학에 대한 신뢰도를 현격히 떨어뜨리게 될 수밖에 없다. 명리학은 인간사 예측에 있어 분명 근거가 있는 학문이지만, 근대 과학의 의료기술이 발생하기 이전에 형성된정보를 현대 사회에서까지 적용시키는 것은 무리가 따를 수밖에 없다.

영문 초록

The health diagnosis theory of Myeongri-hak is to understand the Four Pillars Sexagenary cycle as the body’s energy and infer the state of health through it. This is an application of the method of diagnosing and prescribing diseases based on the principle of yin-yang and five elements in oriental medicine. Although the Four Pillars Sexagenary cycle can represent an individual’s body to some extent, the discussion is in terms of innate constitution or energy, not the disease itself. In particular, discussing genetic diseases or congenital disorders in Four Pillars Sexagenary cycle may create false information. And it is a dangerous idea that can seriously hurt the general public who are ignorant of Myeongri-hak. Such a process inevitably lowers the credibility of Myungri studies significantly. Myeongri-hak is a well-founded theory that can predict human events. However, it is difficult to apply the disease theory to modern society because it is information formed before the advent of medical technology of modern science.
