50대 중년여성 3인의 생애전환 경험에 관한 의미 탐구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 세 명의 50대 중년여성이 진로설계사 자격증을 취득하고 활동하는 과정에서 경험한 삶의 맥락과 진로설계사로서의 생애전환의 의미를 구체적으로 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 이루기 위해 생애전환적 시점에서 겪은 삶의 맥락과 어떠한 생애전환적 경험을 하였으며, 이후에 나타난 삶의 변화에 대한 의미는 무엇인지를 연구문제로 삼았다. 방법 연구 참여자인 50대 중년여성들이 각자의 삶 속에서 경험한 의미들을 해석하는데 있어서, 연구 참여자들의 경험을 가장 잘 이해할 수 있는 연구방법으로써 내러티브 탐구를 사용하였다. 연구 참여자들과의 1:1로 심층적인 인터뷰와 추가적인 전화면담을 통해 현장 텍스트를 수집하였다. 이들의 내러티브를 시계열적 구성으로 분류해보며, 생애전환적 경험에 대한 의미를 해석하였다. 결과 연구의 결과, 50대 중년여성 3인의 생애전환 경험의 과정은 ‘나를 찾는 열병, 오춘기’, ‘깨어나 다시 살기’, ‘나비가 된 애벌레’라는 전환의 의미로 드러났다. 중년여성의 생애전환의 양상은 기존의 삶에서 전환하여 진로설계사라는 새로운 의미를 자신의 삶에 부여하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 결론 50대 중년여성의 생애전환적 의미구조의 변화는 기존의 삶에 대한 비판적 성찰과 담론을 토대로 한 정체성의 재정립의 경험으로 나타났다. 50대 중년여성을 위한 긍정적 생애전환을 일으키는 트리거(trigger)역할로서의 진로설계사 과정과 같은 성인교육 시스템 구축과 중년여성을 위한 진로설계 상담이 요구된다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine in detail the context of life experienced by three middle-aged women in their 50s in the process of obtaining and working as career designers and the meaning of transformative life experiences as career designers. In order to achieve this research purpose, the context of life experienced at a transformative point and what kind of transformative life experiences were experienced. And the research questions were about the meaning of life change that appeared later. Methods In interpreting the meanings experienced by middle-aged women in their 50s, who are research participants, narrative exploration was used as a research method that can best understand the experiences of research participants. On-site text was collected through in-depth interviews and additional telephone interviews with the study participants 1:1 on-site. Their narratives were classified into time-series configurations, and the meaning of transformative life experiences was interpreted. Results As a result of the study, the process of transformative life experiences of three middle-aged women in their 50s was revealed to mean a transition of “fever looking for me, puberty,” “wake up and live again,” and “caterpillar that became butterflies.” It was found that the pattern of transformative life of middle-aged women shifted from their existing lives and gave a new meaning as a career designer to their own lives. Conclusions The change in the life-changing semantic structure of middle-aged women in their 50s was found to be an experience of re-establishing identity based on critical reflection and discourse on existing life. It is required to establish an adult education system such as a career designer course as a trigger for a positive life transition for middle-aged women in their 50s and to consult on career design for middle-aged women.
