국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 베트남 유학생의 대학생활적응에 한국인 및 자국민 친구로부터 받는 사회적지지가 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 부산, 경남 소재 베트남 유학생 211명의 자료를 활용해 한국인 친구와 자국민 친구, 두 집단으로부터의 사회적지지와 유학생의 대학생활적응 수준을 측정하기 위한 검사를 실시하였고, SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 사용하여 상관분석과 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과 분석 결과 한국인 친구의 사회적지지는 대학생활적응 전반에 유의미한 것으로 나타난 것에 반해 자국민 친구의 사회적지지는 대학생활적응과 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 다만 두 집단 모두 사회적 지지가 대학생활적응의 하위요인 중 정서적 적응에는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타나, 정서적지지의 경우 교우관계를 넘어 기관차원의 여러 가지 심리지원 프로그램의 지원이 필요할 것으로 예측된다. 결론 본 연구결과는 베트남 유학생들의 대학생활적응을 높이기 위해 학과, 대학, 국가 차원의 중장기적 관점의 유학생지원 정책이 필요함을 제안하며, 특히 현지인 친구인 한국인 재학생과의 교우관계 활성화를 위해 다각적인 방안을 마련해야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study examines the effect of social support on university adaptation for Vietnamese students, mainly in Busan, Ulsan, and South-Gyeongsang province. Methods This study analyzed the influence of social support from the two groups on their adaptation to college life, using data from 211 Vietnamese students. While examining the effects, we differentiated the relationship with Korean friends and Vietnamese friends. Results As a result of the analysis, the support from the Korean friends was significant in the overall adjustment in college life whereas the support from the Vietnamese friends was not meaningful. The result from both groups showed the social support did not influence emotional adaptation. Therefore, we need to work at the institutional level to tackle the emotional support, while providing various psychological supporting programs. Conclusions This study suggests we need to create a policy for supporting international students in a dimension of a department office, a university, and the government to raise the level of adjustment. It also implies the necessity of diversified methods to stimulate friendships with Koreans who are native in Korean society.
