국문 초록

목적 이 연구는 통계청의 초중고 사교육비조사 자료를 사용하여 조사연도, 과목, 학교급, 시도, 소득수준 등 다섯 개 변수의 주효과와 변수들간 상호작용을 모형에 함께 포함하여 과목별 사교육비 변동에 대한 이들의 영향을 추정하고, 추정결과의 유의성을 통계적 검정절차를 통해서 종합적으로 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 방법 이 연구는 2007년부터 약 40,000명을 대상으로 연2회 조사되는 통계청 초중고 사교육비조사 결과가 분석되었다. 이 연구의 일반교과의 과목별 사교육비 시계열과 예체능교과의 과목별 사교육비에 대하여 오원분산분석(5-way ANOVA)이 실시되었으며, 일반교과 전체사교육비와 예체능교과 전체 사교육비 시계열에 대하여 사원분산분석(4-way ANOVA)이 실시되었다. 결과 선행연구들에서 보고된 이들 다섯 개 변수의 주효과만이 아니라 다섯 개 변수들간의 이차 상호작용도 과목별 사교육비에 대해서 모두 통계적으로 유의한 설명력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 사교육비 증가를 억제하기 위한 대책마련에 앞서서 현상의 발생원인 분석의 필요성이 지적되었다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to estimate the main effects of five variables, such as the survey year, subject, school level, province, and income level, and the two-way interactions between the five variables on private education expenditures, and to examine the significance of estimates through statistical testing procedures using the Private education expenditure survey for elementary, middle, and high school by the Korea Statistics Methods In this study, 5-way ANOVA was conducted on the time series of private education expenses for general subjects and arts and physical education subjects. And 4-way ANOVA is conducted on the time series of the total private education expenses for general subjects and arts and physical education subjects. Results The results show that not only the main effects of these five variables but also the two-way interactions between the five variables had statistically significant for the private education expenses by subject. Among the interactions with significant explanatory power, the average of private education expenditure for each subject and the remaining four variables was presented and interpreted. Conclusions The significance of the study and areas requiring further research were indicated.
