청소년의 자아존중감이 사이버비행에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 청소년의 자아존중감이 사이버비행에 영향을 미치는가를 살펴보고, 이러한 관계에서 사회적 위축과 스마트폰 의존이 순차적으로 매개하는 경로를 밝혀보고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 한국청소년패널조사 2018(KCYPS 2018)의 제2차년도 조사 데이터 중에서 중학교 1학년 코호트 자료 중 청소년이 모든 문항에 응답한 2,438명 중, 사이버비행 경험이 있는 635명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 측정도구는 자아존중감, 사회적 위축, 스마트폰 의존, 사이버비행 척도를 사용하였다. 청소년의 자아존중감과 사이버비행의 관계에서 사회적 위축과 스마트폰 의존의 매개효과의 통계적 유의성을 검증하기 위해 Hayes의 SPSS Process Macro (version 3.5.2) model 6를 사용하여 직렬매개 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 청소년의 자아존중감, 사회적 위축, 스마트폰 의존, 사이버비행은 모두 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 자아존중감은 사이버비행에 직접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 자아존중감은 사회적 위축과 스마트폰 의존의 순차적 매개효과를 통해 사이버비행에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 이러한 연구결과는 청소년의 사이버비행 예방을 위해서는 청소년의 개인적 요인에 관심을 가져, 사회적 위축과 스마트폰 의존 수준을 낮추는 데 개입하는 방안에 대해 관심을 가질 필요가 있음을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to examine whether adolescents’ self-esteem has an effect on cyber delinquency, and to clarify the sequential mediating effect of social withdrawal and mobile phone dependence in such a relationship. Methods Data from Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 were used. 635 students in the first year of middle school were selected. They completed a questionnaire about self-esteem, social withdrawal, mobile phone dependence and cyber delinquency. Data were analyzed to assess the sequential mediation effects among variables using SPSS Process Macro Model 6. Results The results of this study are as follows. First, self-esteem, social withdrawal and mobile phone dependence were related with cyber delinquency. Second, Adolescents’ self-esteem had a direct influence on cyber delinquency. Also, self-esteem indirectly affected cyber delinquency by mediating social withdrawal and mobile phone dependence, and yielding sequential mediation effects on social withdrawal and mobile phone dependence. Conclusions Based on these results, the implications of this study and future research tasks were discussed. This result implies that educational intervention in adolescents’ individual factors such as social relation program and mobile phone dependence are useful in preventing cyber delinquency.
