초등학생의 학교생활적응에 영향을 미치는 요인

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학생이 지각하는 부모관계, 부모양육태도, 자아존중감이 학교생활적응에 미치 는 영향력을 파악하고, 주요 변인과 학교생활적응 변인 사이에서 자아존중감의 매개효과에 대해 검증하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 2018 한국아동청소년패널 조사(KYCPS) 2차 초등학생 데이터 2,378명의 자료를 활용하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 23.0 program을 활용하여 기술통계 및 상관분석을 하였으며, 구조방정식모형을 사용하여 검증하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 부모관계에서 학교생활적응에는 부적으로 유의미한 직접효과가 나타났으며, 부모관계에서 자아존중감에는 유의미한 직접효과가 나타나지 않았다. 그리고 자아존중감은 학교생활에 유의미한 직접효과를 보였다. 둘째, 부모양육태도에서 자아존중감, 부모양육태도에서 학교생활적응 변인에 이르는 경로는 각각 정적으로 유의미한 직접효과가 나타났다. 셋째, 부모양육태도에서 학교생활적응 변인 간에는 자아존중감을 매개로 하여 유의미한 간접효과가 나타난 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 초등학생이 지각하는 부모관계와 부모양육태도, 자아존중감 변인을 통해 학생의 학교생활적응의 관계 및 매개요인을 검증하여 효과적인 교육의 제고 마련과 함께 기존의 연구를 확장하고자 한 점에 있어 의의가 있으며, 초등학생의 자아존중감 향상을 위한 심리적 정서적인 면의 지지에 대한 중요성을 고려하여 적절한 부모교육과 상담 지원의 병행을 제안한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to understand the influence of parental relationships, parenting attitude, and self-esteem perceived by elementary school students on school life adjustment. It verifies the mediating effect of self-esteem between major variables and school life adjustment. Accordingly, data of 2,378 elementary school students from the 2nd round of the 2018 Korean Children s and Youth Panel Survey (KYCPS) were used. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 for descriptive statistics and correlation analysis, and verified using a structural equation model. First, there was a significant direct effect of the parental relationship on the adaptation to school life and no significant direct effect on self-esteem. Furthermore, self-esteem had a significant direct effect on school life. Second, the path from parenting attitude to self-esteem and parenting attitude to school life adaptation variables showed positive and significant direct effects, respectively. Third, a significant indirect effect mediated by self-esteem among school life adaptation variables in parenting attitude was established. This study is meaningful as it seeks to improve effective education and expand existing research by examining the relationship and mediating factors of students adaptation to school life through the variables of parental relationship, parenting attitude, and self-esteem perceived by elementary school students. Considering the importance of supporting psychological and emotional aspects to improve the self-esteem of elementary school students, we propose appropriate parental education and counseling support.
