국문 초록

4차 산업혁명을 대변하는 키워드는 ‘융합’이다. 학문 분야에서도 융합에 대한 수요와 필요성이 높아지고 있으며 이와 관련하여 정보기술을 학문 연구의 방법론으로 활용하는 방안에 관한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 본 글에서는 ‘학문형ICT융합’, 즉 학문 분야에서의 ICT융합 방법론을 살펴보았다. 세부적으로는 기존의 ‘학문형ICT융합’ 연구 방법에 대한 한계를 알아보고 이에 대한 해결방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 ‘학문형ICT융합’ 연구의 구체적인 사례연구를 통해 ‘학문형ICT융합’ 연구의 방법론을 검증하였다. 본 글에서 수행한 연구사례는 다음과 같다. 인문사회과학의 한 분과인 지역학 분야에서는 연구의 효율성과 연구 결과의 효과적인 표출(시각화) 및 확산을 위해 ‘디지털 지도’를 활용하는 연구방법론의 필요성이 꾸준히 제기되고 있다. 그 이유는 지역 연구의 기반이 되는 지식이 지리정보이며 이러한 지식을 함축적이고 시각적으로 표현하여 사용자의 직관적인 이해를 돕는데 가장 적합한 인터페이스가 지도이기 때문이다. 본 글에서는 지역학 분야의 핵심 콘텐츠로 평가되는 디지털 지도를 배경으로 ‘학문형ICT융합’ 연구 방법론에 근거, 지역학 연구의 사례를 제시했다.

영문 초록

The keyword representing the 4th industrial revolution is “convergence.” The demand and necessity for convergence in the academic field are also increasing, and interest in research and methods to use information technology as a methodology for academic research is also increasing. Here, research refers to “Academic-type ICT Convergence,” the ICT convergence research methodology in the academic field. The limitations of the existing “Academic-type ICT Convergence” research method will be investigated in detail, and solutions will be suggested. For this, a specific case study of the “Academic ICT Convergence” study will be conducted, and the research methodology of the “Academic-type ICT Convergence” proposed in this study will be verified. The research cases conducted in this study are as follows. In area studies a branch of the humanities and social sciences the need for a research methodology that uses “digital maps” is steadily increasing, in order to enhance the efficiency of research, and the effective expression and spread of the research results. This is because the knowledge that is the basis of area studies is geographic knowledge, and maps are the most suitable interface that can aid users’ intuitive understanding by expressing such knowledge visually. Here, we investigate the case of the application of digital maps to area studies, according to the “Academic-type ICT Convergence” research methodology presented in this paper, targeting digital maps that have potential as the core content in the field of area studies.
