국문 초록

본고의 목적은 통일문학사 정리를 위해 민족문학 근간으로 분단의 고통과 극복이라는 시인정신을 찾는 데 있다. 다양한 시적 특성과 실험적 시도가 드러나는 신대철의 시세계 중에서 체험을 통해 분단 현실을 갈등하고 민족 정서를 갈망한 시를 대상으로 하였다. 각 시의 내적 이미지연결과 표현을 객관적으로 읽어 분단 현실과 시인정신의 형상화를 구체적으로 살펴보았다. 신대철 시인은 등단 50년이 넘는 시간 동안 다섯 권의 시집을 출간했는데 전 시집은 그의 분단인식의 현실과 시인정신과의 갈등을 담고 있다. 그 중 비무장지대 군대 체험을 바탕으로 1975년에 발표한 <우리들의 땅>은 관념적인 박봉우의 <휴전선>과 달리 구체적이고 사실적이었다. 분단의 상처와 고통은 남북 어디에도 존재하지 않았던 북파공작원을 다룬 시들에서 시인의 체험과당시 사실이 중층적으로 그려져 밀착되어 나타났다. 23년 만에 발표한 두 번째 시집의 표제시인<개마고원에서 온 친구에게>를 통해 극지인 알레스카에서 분단의 상처를 체험을 통해 치유하고자시도했다. 그는 다섯 번째 시집 극지의 새에 이르기까지 분단의 고통을 형상화 했고 백두대간을오르며 민족의 정서회복을 갈망하며 남 북 민족이 백두산에서부터 금강산으로 지리산으로 서로연결되어 있음을 확인했다. 금강산에서 개인적으로 시화전을 열어 정서적 소통을 시도함으로써분단의 상처를 시적으로 승화시켜 분단 극복의 방향을 제시했다. 본고는 체험을 통한 분단의식과 상처를 다룬 신대철 시인의 전 작품을 연구한 첫 시도이다. 그 결과 신대철 시인의 시가 분단 이후 정서적으로 남북 민족이 공유할 수 있는 민족문학의 전형이 될 수 있음을 확인했다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find the poet’s spirit of overcoming the pain of division based on national literature in order to organize the history of the literature on the Unification. Within Shin Dae-Cheol’s world of poetry, which contains various poetic characteristics and experimental attempts, this study focused on the poems where he, through experience, was conflicted with the reality of division and longed for national emotions. By objectively reading the connection and expression of the inner image of each poem, I examined the closeness between the reality of division and the spirit of the poet in detail. Poet Shin Dae-Cheol published 5 books of poetry for over 50 years, all of which contain the pain arising from the conflict between the reality of division and the spirit of poetry. Among his works, , which was released in 1975 based on the military experience in the DMZ, was concrete and realistic, unlike the ideological Park Bong-Woo’s . The wounds and pains of the division appeared more closely related to the poet’s experience and facts during that time in the poems dealing with the Northern Pavilion, who could not exist anywhere in the North and South. In , the title poem of his second poetry collection released after 23 years, he attempted to heal the wounds of division in the polar region of Alaska through experience. Up to his fifth poetry book, “Polar Bird,” he embodied the pain of division, and as he ascended the Baekdu-daegan, yearning for the recovery of the people’s emotions, he confirmed that the South and North Koreans are connected from Mt. Baekdu to Mt. Geumgang to Mt. Jirisan. By personally holding a poetry exhibition at Mt. Geumgang and trying to actually communicate emotionally, he suggested the direction of overcoming the division by sublimating the wounds of division realistically and poetically. This is the first attempt to study the entire works of the poet Shin Dae Cheol, who dealt with the sense of division and wounds through experience. As a result, it was confirmed that poet Shin Dae-Cheol’s poetry could be an epitome of ethnic literature that can be shared emotionally by the South and North Korean people after overcoming the division
