국문 초록

푸코의 주체화의 작업은 현재 주체의 근본적인 토대를 문제시한다. 현재의 주체화의 도식들사이에는 불연속성이 있고, 주체가 인식 과정을 통해 궁극적인 진리의 기초를 세우는 것은 불확정적이다. 여기서 문제는 주체를 단순히 해체하는 것이 아니라, 주체가 인식의 보편적인 정초성이라는 확신을 포기하는 것이다. 푸코의 후기에 살펴본 주체화 연구는 철학적 경험을 새롭게 사유하는 방법과 실천을 보여준다. 이를 대표하는 것으로 고대의 영성훈련이다. 영성의 문제는 주체의 자기 배려의 기술과 연관된다. 그것의 목표는 자기와 자기의 권리, 완전한 관계를 수립하는 것이다. 고대의 영성적 실천은 자기로의 전향을 의미한다. 자기로의 전향의 목적은 자기 인식의 전환을 포함한 외부 세계와 관련한자기를 구축하는 문제에 있다. 파레시아는 위험을 감수하고 자신이 믿는 진실을 솔직하게 말하는 용기이다. 그것은 진실이라고 믿는 바를 발언하는 실천이라는 점에서 진실과의 관계 맺기이다. 파레시아의 진실의 담론은발화자와 참가자 모두를 적극적으로 배려하는 실천이다. 파레시아 발언의 목적은 타자가 그 담론을 받아 들어 자기 자신을 스스로 배려할 수 있는 주체로 형성하는 데 있다. 파레시아에서는 진리라고 믿는 말을 말할 의무뿐만 아니라, 자신의 삶에서 진리를 직접 보여줘야 할 의무가 있다. 그러한 삶의 전형은 견유주의자들의 간결한 삶, 타협하지 않는 삶 속에서 확인할 수 있다. 푸코의 주체화에 관한 논의는 현재의 주체성을 다시 사유하는 하나의 계기가 된다. 그것은현재의 주체화 과정에서 자기를 생성하는 방식은 무엇인가? 푸코 철학이 지금 우리에게 제기하는질문이다.

영문 초록

Foucault’s work on Subjectivation first questions the fundamental foundation of the present subject. There is a discontinuity between the schemas of present Subjectivation, and it is uncertain that the subject establishes the basis of the ultimate truth through the process of recognition. The problem here is not simply to dismantle the subject but to give up the conviction that the subject is the universal origin of cognition. The study of Subjectivation in Foucault’s later period shows the method and practice of rethinking philosophical experiences. This is an ancient spiritual training. The problem of spirituality is related to the skill of the subject’s self-care. Its goal is to establish a perfect relationship with oneself and one’s rights. The ancient spiritual practice meant a conversion to oneself. The purpose of self-transformation is to build the self in relation to the outside world, including the transformation of self-awareness. Parrêsia is the courage to take risks and speak honestly about the truths that one believes. It is a relationship with truth in that it is the practice of saying what is believed to be truth. The discourse of Parrêsia’s Truth is a practice that actively considers both the speaker and the participant. The purpose of Parrêsia’s remarks is to shape the other into a subject that can accept the discourse and consider himself. In Parrêsia, one has an obligation not only to say what one believes is truth, but also to show the truth in one’s life. The epitome of such a life can be seen in the concise and uncompromising lives of the Cynics. The discussion on Foucault’s Subjectivation serves as an opportunity to rethink our subjectivity. What is the method of generating the self in the process of Subjectivation in the present? This is the question that Foucault’s philosophy is asking us now.
