국문 초록

국가폭력에 의해 희생당한 개인은 국가의 울타리에서 벗어나 상처와 절망을 안고 살아간다. 정치 이데올로기는 변화하지만 국가폭력은 시대에 맞게 모습을 바꾸면서 개인에게 다가온다. 본연구의 목적은 국가와 국민의 신뢰 관계가 회복 가능성을 이청준의 소설 벌레이야기와 베른하르트 슐링크의 소설 귀향 속에서 찾아보고자 한다. 거대한 국가 권력에 맞서는 개인의 모습과행동을 살펴보고 국가폭력의 피해자인 개인과 국가의 관계를 성찰하고자 한다. 또한 이청준과슐링크의 글쓰기 방식에서 나타나는 역사를 기억하고 이해하는 과정을 추적하고 회귀하는 국가폭력 앞에 국가와 개인은 어떻게 용서하고 화해해야 하는지를 모색한다. 이청준과 슐링크는 반복되는 국가 폭력 속에서 피해자와 가해자가 어떻게 용서하고 화해해야 하는지 그들의 작품을 통해서말하고 있다. 기억하기와 이야기하기, 진실을 규명하는 일은 가해자와 피해자 간의 상호 신뢰속에서 이뤄져야 하며 그 과정을 잊지 않기 위해 제3자는 역사를 왜곡하지 말아야 한다. 두 작가는어두웠던 과거를 고발하는 것을 멈추지 않고 공론장으로 불러옴으로써 폭력과 용서의 문제를독자에게 제시한다.

영문 초록

Individuals who have been victimized by state violence escape from the borders of the state and live with wounds and despair. Political ideology changes, but state violence approaches individuals by changing their shape according to the times. The purpose of this study is to find out the possibility that the trust relationship between the state and the people will recover in Lee Chung-jun’s novel “The Bug Story” and Bernhard Schlink’s novel “Returning”. It examines the individual’s behavior against enormous state power, and reflects on the relationship between the individual and the state who are victims of state violence. In addition, it traces the process of remembering and understanding the history of Lee Chung-jun and Schlink’s writing style, and seeks how the state and individual should forgive and reconcile in the face of national violence that returns. Lee Chung-jun and Schlink talk through their work on how victims and perpetrators should forgive and reconcile amid repeated national violence. Remembering, telling stories, and finding out the truth should be done in mutual trust between the perpetrator and the victim, and in order not to forget the process, third parties should not distort history. The two writers present the issue of violence and forgiveness to the reader by bringing them to the public sphere without stopping to accuse the dark past.
