간호학생이 임상실습에서 경험한 비경구 투약의 의미

국문 초록

본 연구는 간호학생이 임상 현장에서 경험하는 비경구 투약에 대한 심층적인 경험을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 4학년 간호학생 41명으로 35명은 포커스그룹 인터뷰, 6명은 심층 개별면담으로 자료를 수집하였다. 자료분석은 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법에 의해 진행되었다. 본 연구의 결과로 도출된 간호학생이 임상실습에서 경험한 비경구 투약의 의미는 ‘투약실습의 기회를 얻고자 노력함’, ‘투약을 둘러싼 우려로 인해 위축됨’, ‘투약을 실수하지 않기 위해 연습함’, ‘비경구 투약에 부분적으로 참여하여 배움’, ‘주위의 긍정적인 반응으로 투약에 자신감이 생김’ 이었다. 이는 ‘간호학생의 적극적인 태도 여부가 투약 실습을 경험하는 중요한 요인이며, 투약 과정에서 간호사의 긍정적인 피드백이 간호학생의 자신감을 고취시키고 투약 실습에 동기 부여하는 선순환적인 과정’임을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: Although drug administration comprises more than 40% of nursing services, nursing students learn about parenteral drug administration indirectly. Little attention has been paid to parenteral drug administration practice of nursing students. The purpose of this study was to explore how nursing students experience parenteral drug administration in clinical practice. Methods: Using purposive sampling, 41 nursing students who were seniors in a university participated in this study. Data were collected through focus group and individual interviews and analyzed using phenomenological method. Results: The following five themes emerged: “making efforts to obtain opportunities for drug administration,” “feeling intimidated in concerns for drug administration,” “practicing to eliminate mistakes,” “learning with playing a partial role in drug administration,” and “feeling confident based on positive responses.” Preceptors’ positive feedback prompted nursing student self-confidence and improved drug administration practice. Conclusion: Results provided an understanding of the overall drug administration process in nursing education and presented evidence of theory-practice differences.
