국문 초록

본 논문에서는 최근 들어 여성의 사회 참여와 ICT 이용이 늘고 있는 아랍지역에서 여성창업환경이 경제성장에 긍정적인 영향을 주는지를 연구하였다. 아랍지역 여성들의 사회적인 지위와 학력이 높아지면서 여성의 사회 활동과 여성창업이 증가하고 있다. 한편 여성창업에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 여성 창업의 성과 또는 동기 등에 대한 연구가 진행되어 왔지만 다양한 요인에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이러한 점에서 본 연구는 여성창업가들의 환경, 특히 창업비용이 경제성장에 미치는 영향을 실증연구를 통해 규명한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 더 나아가 본 연구는 최근 모든 산업에 지대한 영향을 끼치고 있는 ICT가 아랍지역의 여성창업비용과 경제성과와의 관계에서 조절적 역할을 수행하는 지를 검증하였다. World bank에서 아랍 지역의 데이터를 수집하여 패널분석을 실시한 결과, 창업의 경제적 환경요인인 여성의 창업비용은 아랍지역의 경제성장에 유의한 부의 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히 ICT 중 인터넷 이용량은 여성창업비용과 경제성장의 관계에 대하여 조절효과를 갖는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 2004년부터 2016년 사이의 아랍 지역의 15개국에 대한 패널분석한 실증분석 결과이다.

영문 초록

In this paper, we studied whether the female start-up environment has a positive effect on economic growth in the Arab region, where women s participation in society and ICT use has been increasing in recent years. Women s social activities and women s start-ups are increasing as women in the Arab world have increased their social status and educational background. On the other hand, research on the achievements or motivations of female start-ups has been under way due to the growing interest in women s start-ups, but research on various factors is lacking. In this regard, this study is meaningful in that it identifies the environmental impact of female start-up costs on economic growth, especially through empirical research. Further, the study confirmed that ICT, which has had a significant impact on all industries in recent years, plays a controlling role in the relationship between the cost of female start-up and economic performance in the Arab region. According to the World Bank s panel analysis by collecting data from the Arab region, it was analyzed that the start-up cost of women, an economic environmental factor for start-ups, has a significant wealth effect on economic growth in the Arab region. In particular, Internet usage among ICTs was found to have an adjustment effect on the relationship between the cost of starting a business for women and economic growth. This study is based on panel analysis of 15 countries in the Arab region between 2004 and 2016
