국문 초록

본 연구는 한국의 어린이집 평가인증 통합지표와 미국의 유아교육환경척도(ECERS-3)를 비교 분석하여 공통점과 차이점을 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 각 나라의 평가영역, 평가지표, 항목 등을 파악한 후 한국 어린이집 평가인증 통합지표를 기준으로 ECERS-3의 내용을 분류, 종합하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 한국의 어린이집 평가인증 통합지표에 비하여 미국의 ECERS-3가 지표 및 항목의 개수가 많고, 평가지표를 평가하는 방법에 차이가 있었다. 한국의 평가인증 통합지표는 간단하게 점수를 줄 수 있는 것에 비해 ECERS-3은 매우 세밀하고 단계적으로 평가할 수 있도록 구성되어 있다. 또한 한국 어린이집 평가인증 통합지표는 건강과 위생, 안전, 기관 운영관리에 보다 강조점을 두는 반면, 미국 ECERS-3에서는 한국 어린이집 평가인증 통합지표에 비해‘언어와 문해’ 및 ‘교육활동’과 같이 유아의 언어발달을 지원하고 다양한 놀이영역을 통한 교육과 교육활동을 위한 환경의 구성에 강조점을 두는 등 교육에 많은 비중을 두어 지표를 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study examined the consistency and difference between Korea s integrated indicators of childcare evaluation for accreditation and ECERS-3 through comparative analysis. To this end the evaluation criteria, evaluation indicators and items of each country were examined, and the contents of ECERS-3 were categorized and summarized on the basis of Korea s integrated indicators of childcare evaluation. Based on the results of this study, ECERS-3 contained more indicators and items than Korea s integrated indicators of childcare evaluation, and the method of evaluation showed differences. Whereas Korea s evaluation indicators are simply designed to give scores, ECERS-3 is designed as a very precise and phased evaluation. In addition, Korea s integrated childcare evaluation indicators focuses more on health, hygiene, safety and facility management, but ECERS-3 puts more emphasis on education, such as supporting child s linguistic development including Language and Literacy and Educational Activity and emphasizing on the construction of environment for education and educational activities through various play areas.
