후속 자녀 출산 계획에 영향을 미치는 부모 특성 및 지역사회 환경 요인에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 후속자녀출산 계획에 미치는 영향 요인을 살펴보기 위해 개인적 요인인 부모 특성과 환경적 요인인 지역사회 환경 요인을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 육아정책연구소의 제 1차~5차년도 한국아동패널 자료를 활용하였다. 자료는 SPSS 20.0과 STATA 14.0 통계 프로그램으로 패널 로짓 모형으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모 연령과 양육스트레스가 낮을수록 후속자녀출산 계획은 높게 나타났다. 반면 부모의 결혼만족도가 높을수록 취업모일수록 후속자녀 출산계획 의지가 높았다. 둘째, 수도권지역에 비해 비수도권지역에 거주하는 경우 후속출산 계획 의지가 높았으며 지역사회 내 문화시설 접근 편리성 인식이 높을수록 후속자녀 출산계획 의지가 높았다. 마지막으로 저소득 집단의 경우 부모 특성 외에 지역사회 환경 요인에서는 유의미한 변인이 없었던 반면 중위소득 집단의 경우 문화시설 접근 편리성이 높을수록 후속출산계획 의지가 높게 나타났음이 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 후속자녀 출산 계획 지원을 위한 사회복지적 개입 방안을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study has investigated the characteristics of parents as personal factors and community environments as environmental factors in bringing about changes to subsequent childbirth planning. We used data from the first to the fifth year of the Panel Study on Korean Children made by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education. The data was analyzed by means of the Panel Logit Model using the SPSS 20.0 and STATA 14.0 statistical packages. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the study found that the lower the parental age and parenting stress, the higher the willingness towards a subsequent childbirth plan. On the other hand, the higher the satisfaction level of the parents marriage, and for working mothers, the higher the willingness towards a subsequent childbirth plan. Second, the non-metropolitan area, rather than the metropolitan area, had a higher willingness to a subsequent childbirth plan. And, the higher the perceived ease of access to cultural facilities in the community, the higher the willingness to a subsequent childbirth plan. Last, there were no significant variables in the community environment besides the parents factor in the case of the low-income group. On the other hand, in the case of the middle-income group, the higher the convenience of access to the cultural facility in the community, the higher the willingness to a subsequent childbirth plan. Based on these findings, we suggested social welfare interventions to promote the subsequent childbirth planning of parents.
