유아교사의 대인관계 스트레스와 심리적 안녕감과의 관계

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 유아교사의 대인관계 스트레스가 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 과정에서의 스트레스 대처 방식의 조절효과에 대해 살펴봄으로써 이 두 변인이 심리적 안녕감에 어떠한 과정을 통해 영향을 미치는지 이해하고자 하였다. 방법 온라인 설문조사를 통해 우리나라 유아교육기관(어린이집, 유치원) 교사 232명의 대인관계 스트레스, 스트레스 대처 방식, 심리적 안녕감을 조사하였다. 통제변인을 통제한 후 위계적 회귀분석을 실시함으로써 스트레스 대처방식별 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 결과 대인관계 스트레스는 심리적 안녕감에 유의한 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 스트레스 대처 방식 중 문제중심 대처와 회피중심 대처는 심리적 안녕감에 유의한 정적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 정서중심 대처는 유의한 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 스트레스 대처 방식 중 회피중심 대처만이 유아교사의 대인관계 스트레스가 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 과정에 조절효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구의 결과는 세 변인 간 관계와 스트레스 대처 방식의 조절효과에 대한 이해를 돕고 더 나아가 유아교사의 심리적 안녕감 신장 및 감소 예방 방안 마련을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study investigated the relation between interpersonal stress and psychological well-being of infant teachers in Korea, focusing on moderating effects of stress coping style. Methods The participants were 232 infant teachers who agreed to participate in this study. The measures included interpersonal stress questionnaires, psychological well-being questionnaires, and stress coping style questionnaires. The moderating effects were examined through hierarchical regression, after controlling the control variables. Results Interpersonal stress was negatively related to psychological well-being. Among stress coping styles, problem-focused coping and avoidance-focused coping were positively related to on psychological well-being, while emotion-focused coping was negatively related to psychological well-being. It was found that avoidance- focused coping style had a moderating effect on the relation between interpersonal stress and psychological well-being. Conclusions The results will serve as basic data for developing interventions to improve the psychological well-being of early childhood teachers in Korea, helping us understand the relation between these variables and the moderating effect of stress coping styles.
