대학생의 완벽주의적 자기제시가 외로움에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 대학생의 완벽주의적 자기제시와 외로움의 관계를 알아보고 그 과정에서 자기개념 명확성의 조절효과를 밝히고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 경기도 소재 ○○대학교 재학생 388명을 임의 표집하여 완벽주의적 자기제시 척도, 외로움 척도, 자기개념 명확성 척도를 통해 설문을 실시하였고, SPSS를 사용하여 Pearson 적률 상관분석, 위계적 회귀분석, 부트스트래핑을 통해 분석을 수행하였다. 결과 분석 결과는 첫째, 완벽주의적 자기제시는 외로움과 정적상관이 있었다. 자기개념 명확성은 완벽주의적 자기제시, 외로움과 부적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 완벽주의적 자기제시가 외로움에 미치는 부정적인 효과가 자기개념 명확성에 의해 조절되고 있음을 검증하였다. 셋째, 자기개념 명확성이 높은 조건에서는 ‘완벽주의적 자기노력’이 커질수록 외로움이 감소하였으며, 자기개념 명확성 수준이 높아질수록 ‘불완전함 은폐노력-행동적’과 ‘불완전함 은폐노력-언어적’이 외로움에 미치는 영향력은 약화되었다. 결론 본 연구는 완벽주의적 자기제시 특성이 있더라도 자기도식이 명확하다면 외로움에 대한 보호요인이 될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 완벽주의적 자기제시 하위요인의 기능적 측면을 활용한다면 대인관계의 적응적 전략이 될 수 있음을 제안하였다. 나아가 일상장면에서도 개인이 자신을 명확히 이해함으로써 대인관계 문제를 주체적으로 극복할 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and loneliness of university students, and to explore moderating effect of self-concept clarity on the process. Methods To verify this, the survey was conducted on 388 university students through RUKS, PSPS-K, SCCS. Results The results of this study include the followings. First, perfectionistic self-presentation showed a positive correlation with loneliness. The self-concept clarity had negative correlation with perfectionistic self-pre-sentation, loneliness. Second, the negative effects of perfectionistic self-presentation on loneliness have been buffered by self-concept clarity. Third, under the condition where self-concept clarity is high, loneliness de-creases as ‘perfectionistic self promotion’ increase. And as the level of self-concept clarity increase, the influence of ‘nondisplay of imperfection’ and ‘nondisclosure of imperfection’ on loneliness lessened. Conclusions This study suggested that even if there is a perfectionistic self-presentation characteristic, if the self-concept is clear, it can not only be a protective factor against loneliness, but also an adaptive strategy of inter-personal relationships if the functional aspects of the perfectionistic self-presentation’s sub-factors are utilized. Furthermore, it suggests that even in everyday scenes, individuals can independently overcome interpersonal problems by clearly understanding themselves.
