대학생 SNS 활용의 학습실태, 학습경험 및 이용목적

국문 초록

목적 많은 선행연구가 SNS에 관한 긍정적 효과, 교육적 역할의 가능성, 학습경험의 내용을 밝히고는 있지만, 학습경험의 차이, SNS 활용을 위한 개선사항, 이용목적 같은 주요 이슈에 대해서는 연구가 부족하여 시사점을 찾기 어렵다. 이에 본 연구는 학습상황에서 대학생들의 SNS의 활용실태, 배경변인에 따른 SNS에서 구체적인 학습경험의 차이, 그리고 구체적인 학습경험과 SNS의 이용목적과의 관련성을 파악하고자 하였다. 방법 이에 본 연구는 431명의 학부생을 대상으로 조사연구를 통해 데이터를 수집하였고 빈도분석, 분산분석, IPA 및 연결망 분석을수행하였다. 결과 첫째, 다수의 학생이 인스타, 유튜브, 페이스북 등 다양한 SNS를 다양한 시간 동안, 그리고 저녁시간대에 많이 활용하고 있었다. 둘째, SNS에서의 학습경험의 차이는 성격이란 배경변인에서 잘 나타나는데, 외향적인 성격이 내성적 성격보다 더 큰 영향을미쳤다. 한편, 성별에 따른 차이는 나타나지 않았고, 전공은 매우 제한적인 차이를 보였다. 셋째, 학습경험 중에서 행위규칙, 의문점해소, 새로운 분야경험이 시급히 개선되어야 할 영역으로 조사되었다. 넷째, 개별적 학습경험에 따라서 관련되어 있는 이용목적은상이하지만, 연결과 확장, 학습정보/조언획득은 모든 이용목적과 관련되어 있었고, 연결망 분석의 중심성 지표도 이를 뒷받침하였다. 결론 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 논의와 시사점을 제시하고 후속연구를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives Although many previous studies have explored the positive effects of SNS, the potential role of SNS in education, and the content of learning experiences, there is a lack of research on major issues such as differences in learning experiences, improvements of learning experiences, and the purpose of use in SNS. Thus, this study aimed to identify the current status of college students’s use of SNS in learning situations, differences in specific learning experiences on SNS according to background variables, and the relationship between specific learning experiences and the purpose of SNS use. Methods Thus, this study collected data through a survey of 431 undergraduates and conducted frequency analysis, ANOVA, IPA, and network analysis. Results First, a large number of students used various SNS such as Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook for various periods of time and more in the evening. Second, differences in learning experiences on SNS are well showed in the background variable of personality, with extroverted personality having a greater effect than introverted personality. In the meantime, gender differences were not showed, and major showed very limited differences. Third, among the learning experiences, behavioral rules, resolving questions, and experiencing new fields were identified as areas that need to be urgently improved. Fourth, the related purposes of use vary depending on each learning experiences, but connection and expansion, acquisition of learning information/advice were related to all purposes of use, and centrality indicators of network analysis supported this. Conclusions In accordance with the results, related discussions were proposed and implications and recommendation for future studies were outlined.
