새록 대안학교 교육과정에 대한 졸업생 경험 이해

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 새록 대안학교 졸업생이 경험한 교육과정에 대한 이해를 해석하였다. 방법 새록학교 교육과정을 한 사례로 하는 사례연구이며, 20여 년 동안 배출한 졸업생 중 1기부터 최근 기수까지 모두 21명을 면담하였다. 자료 수집에서 약호화, 기술, 분석, 해석에 이르기까지 모두 이야기 방식으로 진행했다. 결과 학교 측 편성과 비교할 때 학생이 선호하는 내용과 형식의 일반과 대안 교과, 동아리 중심 방과후활동, 자치 활동, 기숙사 생활로 교육과정이 구성되었다. 그 과정에서 형성된 각자의 정체성과 학교에 대한 ‘상’은 진로 선택에 중요한 영향을 미쳤다. 참가자 중많은 수가 대학 진학을 했고 일부는 사회 참여를 했지만 현실과 괴리로 인해 어려움을 겪으며 각자 스스로 노력하는 진로 플러스 교육과정을 학습자 태도로 경험해야 했다. 결론 새록 대안학교 교육과정은 학생이 주도하고 삶을 위한 텍스트로 이해할 수 있으며 일반학교와 비교할 때 영 교육과정으로 이해할 수 있다. 졸업생 진로는 학교에서 했던 경험이 토대가 되어 이어졌다. 반면 사회의 보편적인 규범, 가치와는 거리가 있어 진로를찾아가는 과정에는 많은 시행착오가 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study tries to understand and interpret graduates' experience about Saerok Alternative school curriculum. Methods It is a case study of the Saerok school curriculum. Among the graduates who graduated for more than 20 years, a total of 21 people were interviewed. From data collection to coding, description, analysis, and interpretation were all carried out in a narrative manner. Results Compared to the school's development, the curriculum was constructed of general and alternative subjects with different contents and formats, after-school activities centered on clubs, various autonomous activities, and dormitory life. Each identity and school image formed in the process had an important influence on career choice. Many of the participants went to college and some participated in society, but they had to experience a career plus curriculum in which they tried on their own, suffering from a gap from reality. Conclusions The Saerok Alternative school curriculum can be understood as a text for life led by students and compared to general schools, it can be understood as a null curriculum. The graduate's career path was based on their experiences at school. On the other hand, there were many trials and errors in the process of finding a career path because it was far from the stereotyped norms and values of society.
