지문의 빈칸 변인에 따른 읽기 이해의 차이 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 지문 내 빈칸의 개수가 학생들의 읽기에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 검사 도구로서의 개발 가능성을 파악하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 대전광역시 소재 고등학생 267명을 대상으로 지문 내 빈칸 변인의 영향력을 측정하기 위한 검사를 실시하였다. 빈칸 개수 조건에 따라 네 가지 조건으로 분류하여 지문의 빈칸 개수가 학생들의 읽기 이해에 미치는 영향을 효과 크기 분석으로 파악하였다. 결과 그 결과 첫째, 빈칸이 없는 조건과 빈칸이 10번째 어절마다 있는 조건 간의 효과크기는 작았다. 빈칸이 7번째, 5번째 어절마다있는 경우 빈칸의 개수가 학생들의 읽기에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 설명문을 읽을 때 서사문보다 빈칸의 개수가 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 빈칸의 개수는 추론적 이해보다 사실적 이해 시 더 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 결론 이와 같은 결과를 고려할 때, 빈칸의 개수가 학생들의 읽기에 미치는 영향을 보다 구체적으로 규명하여 빈칸 메우기 검사와같은 평가 도구를 학생들의 읽기 이해를 고려한 수업 설계에 적극적으로 활용할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives In this study, the effect of the number of blanks in the text on students' reading was analyzed, and the possibility of development as a test tool was identified. Methods To this end, a test was conducted on 267 high school students in Daejeon Metropolitan City to measure the influence of the blank variable in the text. The effect of the number of blanks on students' reading comprehension was identified by analyzing the effect size by classifying it into four conditions according to the number of blanks conditions. Results First as a result, The effect size between the conditions without blanks and the conditions with blanks for each tenth word was small. When the blanks were in each of the 7th and 5th words, the number of blanks had a significant effect on students' reading. Second, when reading the explanatory text, the number of blanks had an effect rather than the narrative text. Third, the number of blanks had a greater influence on factual understanding than inference understanding. Conclusions Considering these results, the effect of the number of blanks on students' reading can be more specifically investigated, and evaluation tools such as the blank filling test can be actively used in class design considering students' reading comprehension.
