현직 중등 음악교사의 재교육 기관으로서의 교육대학원 음악교육전공에 대한 인식 및 요구 조사

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 중등 음악교사 재교육 기관으로서의 교육대학원에 관한 인식과 교육과정 요구도를 조사하여 현직 중등 음악교사 재교육을 위한 학위과정 재구성 방향성을 조사하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법 전국의 현직 중등 음악교사 139명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여, 재교육 기관으로서의 현행 교육대학원에 대한 인식과 필요성, 요구하는 교육과정을 알아보았다. 더불어, 수집된 설문조사 결과의 통계 분석 및 자율 기술 문답 결과에 따른 구체적인 원인과 인식을 현직교사 관점에서 논의하기 위하여 2인의 교사 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 결과 현직 중등 음악교사들은 현행 교육대학원 음악교육 전공의 기능을 현직교사 재교육 기관보다는 예비 교원 양성기관으로 특성화하여 인식하는 경향이 뚜렷하였다. 이는 현재 교육대학원의 기능이 최초 설립 목적에서 멀어져 있음을 나타내며, 현직 중등 음악교사의 전문성 제고를 위한 기능을 보다 강화할 필요성을 시사는 바이다. 나아가, 중등 음악교사들은 현장 연계성이 높은 교사 재교육 과정을 기대하였으며, 이는 주로 교수법 개발과 관련이 있었다. 결론 첫째, 교육대학원 음악교육전공은 장기 교육이 필요한 내용을 중심으로 현직교사 재교육 교육과정을 구성하여야 한다. 더불어, 현직 중등 음악교사의 필요에 따라 자율적인 교육과정 결정과 이수 과정을 거칠 수 있는 이수 체계가 마련되어야 한다. 둘째, 급변하는 사회의 요구와 최신 교육과정의 철학을 선도적으로 이해하여 교사들이 수용할 수 있도록 돕는 현직교사 재교육 교육과정이 개발되어야 한다. 이로써 실제 교육 현장에 알맞게 응용하게 되기까지 교사가 전문성 발달에 책무성을 가지도록 양질의 교수학습 방법 및 자료 개발 연구가 진행되어야 한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception and demand of in-service secondary music teachers regarding graduate college of education as in-service training institution; and discuss about the curriculum improvement of graduate college of education for in-service training. Methods A survey of 139 secondary music teachers nationwide was conducted to find out the awareness and necessity of the current graduate college of education as in-service training institution and its curriculum. In addition, interviews with two music teachers were conducted to find more specific causes and perceptions of the survey results and discuss about the future direction of the institution from the perspective of in-service teachers. Results In-service secondary music teachers tended to characterize the functions of the current graduate college of education and music education major as a pre-service teacher training institution rather than for in-servicet teacher training. This indicates that the functions of the graduate college of education are far from the purpose of initial establishment, and suggests the need to further strengthen the functions to enhance the expertise of in-service music teachers. Furthermore, secondary music teachers expected curriculum with high field connectivity, which was mainly related to the development of teaching methods. Conclusions First, the music education major of graduate college of education should develop curriculum for in-service training, focusing on the contents that require long-term education. In addition, a completion system that teachers have more autonomous curriculum decision should be provided as well as completion process according to the needs of in-service teachers. Second, curriculum for in-service teacher training should be developed to help teachers understand the rapidly changing needs of society and the latest philosophy and theory. In this way, research on developing high-quality teaching-learning methods and materials should be conducted; so that teachers can be far more accountable for professional development and improving their classrooom.
