국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 초기 청소년 자아존중감의 매개역할을 통해 부모의 양육태도, 친구관계, 교사관계가 그릿에 미치는 영향에 대한 구조적 관계를 탐색하고, 변인 간 직·간접적 효과를 분석하는 것에 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 한국아동·청소년 패널조사(Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey: KCYPS)의 1차년도(2018년) 초등학교 4학년 패널자료 2,607명의 응답을 사용하여 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 본 연구의 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 친구관계 및 교사관계는 그릿에 유의한 직접적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 부모의 양육태도는 그릿에 유의한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 부모의 양육태도와 친구관계는 자아존중감에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치지만, 교사관계는 자아존중감에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 매개변인인 자아존중감은 그릿에 유의한 정적인 영향을 주었다. 넷째, 부모의 양육태도가 그릿에 미치는 영향에 있어서 자아존중감의 완전매개효과가 나타났고, 친구관계가 그릿에 미치는 영향에 있어서 자아존중감의 부분매개효과가 나타났다. 결론 이러한 주요 연구결과를 바탕으로 긍정적인 친구관계와 자아존중감 신장을 통해 초기 청소년의 그릿을 발달시킬 수 있는 필요성과 방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationship of the effect of parenting attitude, peer relationship and student-teacher relationship between grit through the mediating effect of the early adolescents’ self-esteem, and analyze the direct and indirect effects between variables. Methods For this purpose, the structural equation modeling was applied to the wave 1 of 4th grade of elementary school students(N=2,607) of the Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey 2018 conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute. Results The results are as follows: First, while the peer relationship as well as student-teacher relationship have significant positive effects on grit, the parenting attitude does not. Second, parenting attitude and peer relationship have significant positive effects on self-esteem, but student-teacher relationship do not. Third, self-esteem have significant positive effect on grit. Fourth, the effect of parenting attitude on grit was completely mediated by self-esteem, self-esteem had a partial mediating effect between parenting attitude and grit. Conclusions Based on these main results, the need and strategies for enhancing the grit of the early adolescent through positive peer relationship and self-esteem were suggested.
