ASD 자녀의 초등학교 통합교육 경험을 통해 성장해 나가는 부모의 변화

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 ASD 자녀의 초등학교 통합교육 경험을 통한 부모의 성장, 변화에 관하여 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 중심으로 수행한 연구이다. 이 연구는 장애아동과 비장애 아동들의 통합학급이 날로 늘어나는 초등학교현장에서 부모들이 겪는 주관적 경험을 바탕으로 살아 있는 체험에 대한 의미를 분석하여 기술한 것이다. 방법 8세에서 12세까지 경도의 ASD 자녀를 양육한 6명의 부모가 자녀의 학교 입학 후 첫 학기부터의 학교생활에 대한 연구에 참여하였다. 2020년 12월 초부터 2021년 3월 중순까지 1회 40~60분 기준으로 인터뷰를 진행하였으며 심층분석이 필요할 때는 개인별로 전화 통화를 해 2-3회 추가 진행하였다. 결과 6명의 부모는 배경은 다르지만 아이를 교육하는 것에 대해 비슷한 경험을 나타냈다. 6명의 연구 참여자들의 경험을 분석한 결과 “학교라는 긴장감”, “학교에 적응하는 문제”, “새로운 미래의 준비”라는 3개의 본질적 의미가 나타났다. 결론 초기에는 학교라는 커다란 사회적 현장에서 두려운 감정에 압도당하여 적응에 어려움이 있다는 것을 인식하였다.그러나 자녀가 고학년이 될수록 현실을 직시하며 자녀의 눈높이로 세상을 바라보고 약자에 대한 관심과 겸손으로 타인을 폭넓게 이해하고 부모도 함께 성숙해지는 모습으로 성장해 나가는 모습을 보였다. 본 연구는 ASD 장애를 가진 통합교육 대상 특수아동이 비장애 아동들과 함께 편견 없이 건강하게 살아갈 수 있도록 이들에 대한 이해를 촉진하는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study focuses on Giorgi s phenomenological research method on parents growth and change through ASD children s integrated primary school education experience. The study analyzed and described the meaning of living experiences based on the subjective experiences parents experience at elementary school sites where the integrated classes of disabled and non-disabled children are increasing day by day. Methods Six parents who raised their children with ASD in Gyeongdo Province from the age of 8 to 12 participated in the study of their children s school life from the first semester of their school. From early December 2020 to mid-March 2021, interviews were conducted on a 40-60-minute basis, and when in-depth analysis was needed, individuals talked on the phone two to three more times. Results The six parents had similar experiences in educating their children, although they had different backgrounds. Analysis of the experience of six research participants revealed three essential meanings: “tension of school,” “problem of adapting to school,” and “preparation for a new future.” Conclusions In the early days, he was overwhelmed by fear in the large social scene of school and recognized that there were difficulties in adapting.However, as the child became a senior, he looked at the world with his child s eye level, understood others widely with interest and humility, and his parents grew stronger together. This study is significant in promoting understanding of ASD-disabled specialized children so that they can live healthily with non-disabled children without prejudice.
