청소년 미디어 리터러시 활용

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 미디어 리터러시를 활용한 청소년 성교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 개발된 프로그램이 청소년들의 ‘성지식’ ‘성태도’ ‘성인지감수성’에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 Hobbs의 미디어 리터러시 교육모형을 기반으로 청소년을 위한 미디어 리터러시 활용 성교육 프로그램을 개발하였고, 개발된 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 실험군과 대조군에게 사전검사와 사후검사 2회를 시행하였다. 본 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 실시되었으며, 실험군에는 미디어 리터러시를 활용한 성교육 프로그램을 회기당 45분씩 총 6회기 실시하였고 대조군에는 일반적인 성교육을 똑같은 조건으로 실시하였다. 결과 미디어 리터러시 활용 성교육 프로그램 중재 후 성지식, 성태도, 성인지감수성이 증가하였다. 한 달 뒤 실시한 사후검사에서도 그 효과성이 지속됨을 알 수 있었는데 대조군의 경우에는 사전검사, 사후검사Ⅰ, 사후검사Ⅱ에 따른 유의미한 변화가 없었다. 결론 이는 성교육 시 미디어에 대한 식별력을 기를 수 있는 미디어 리터러시 내용과 방법을 포함시킬 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The objective of this study is to develop a sex education program using media literacy for adolescents, and to analyze the effects of the program on the knowledge of sexual matters, sex attitude, and gender sensitivity of them. Methods Based on Hobbs’ media literacy education model, this study designed a sex education program using the media literacy for adolescents. 444 middle school students participated in this study. Total six sessions of sex education program using the media literacy were conducted in the experimental group for 45 minutes per session, while the general sex education was conducted in the control group under the same conditions. The repeated measures ANOVA was conducted to verify the differences in sex knowledge, sex attitude, and gender sensitivity of pre/post test I and post test II between experimental group and control group. Results The experimental group showed the increased sex knowledge, sex attitude, and gender sensitivity after the intervention of the sex education program using the media literacy. And the effects lasted for a month. On the other hand, there were no significant changes in the control group according to the pre/post test I and post test II. Conclusions The sex education program using the media literacy is more effective in improving sex knowledge, sex attitude, and gender sensitivity of adolescents than a general sex education.
