‘한 학기 한 권 읽기’가 인문계 고등학생의 읽기 효능감 향상에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 ‘한 학기 한 권 읽기’가 인문계 고등학생의 읽기 효능감 향상에 영향을 주는가를 파악하였다. 방법 경기도 소재 고등학교 2학년 학생 88명을 대상으로 32문항으로 구성된 읽기 효능감 검사 도구를 사용하여 검사를 실시하였다. 결과 ‘한 학기 한 권 읽기’는 인문계 고등학생의 읽기 효능감 향상에 유의한 변화를 가져왔다. 고 효능감 학생보다 저 효능감 학생에서, 그리고 남학생보다 여학생에게서 더 유의한 변화가 있었다. 또한 총 32문항의 읽기 효능감 검사 도구를 5가지 요인으로 나누어 분석한 결과, 모든 요인이 ‘한 학기 한 권 읽기’와 긴밀한 연관성으로 보였다. 가장 큰 폭으로 향상된 요인은 독해 향상 요인, 가장 적은 폭으로 향상된 요인은 사회적 인정 요인이었다. 결론 ‘한 학기 한 권 읽기’ 활동과 수업 지도 과정은 고등학교 현장에 바로 적용할 수 있고, 학생들의 자발적인 참여를 토대로 읽기 효능감을 높이는 활동이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study was to evaluate the effect of reading one book per semester on improving reading effectiveness of high school students. Methods Eighty-eight second year of high school students were included in this study. The reading efficacy test with 32 questions were used to evaluate the reading effectiveness. Results The results of this study show that ‘reading one book per semester’ showed significant changes in students reading efficacy, and that low efficacy students and girls were more significant than high efficacy students and boys. In addition, the reading efficacy test tool, which has a total of 32 questions, was divided into five factors and analyzed each of them, showing that all factors were closely related to ‘reading one book per semester’. Among them, the biggest improvement in reading efficiency was the reading improvement factor, and the smallest improvement was the social recognition factor. Conclusions The activity of ‘reading one book per semester’ with a guidance course can be applied directly to high school students and classroom, and this is a student-centered class that presupposes students voluntary participation.
