대학생들의 온라인/온⋅오프 혼합 학습경험에 대한 수업 에세이 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 이번 연구는 2020학년도 1학기, 2학기에 걸쳐 시행되었던 캠퍼스 대학의 온라인/온⋅오프 혼합 학습경험을 통해 향후 Post-COVID-19시대 교육 방향을 제언하고자 했다. 방법 이를 위하여 52명 학생들의 수업에세이를 분석하였다. 결과 연구 결과, 학생들이 지각한 온라인 학습의 긍정적인 측면은 ‘시⋅공간을 초월한 학습참여의 기회’, ‘반복 학습을 통한 학습이해도 상승’이었다. 반면, 학습자가 경험한 온라인 학습의 부정적 측면은 물리적 자원의 지원 부족(예: 학습장소 열악함, 온라인시스템 불안정 및 IT장비 부족 등)과 학습 의욕/참여 저하였으며, 특히 학습의욕/참여 저하는 ‘시간 여유에 따른 나태함’, ‘장소 확보의 어려움’, ‘혼자 학습’, 그리고 ‘상호작용 활동 제한’ 등이 주요 원인으로 드러났다. 오/오프 혼합 학습(예: 블렌디드, 실시간 화상 수업 등)은 ‘상호작용’이 가능하다는 측면에서 학생들이 선호했다. 그러나 다양한 온/오프 혼합수업(예: 대면, 동영상, 블렌디드, 화상 강의 등)이 동시에 진행됨으로써 발생하는 문제들(예: 학습장소 부족, 학습장비 부족, 시스템 불안정, 학습 스케줄의 혼선 등)은 학생들의 학습참여를 방해했고 대학이 해결해야 할 문제로 남아 있었다. 결론 이번 연구는 Post-COVID-19시대 온라인 수업 운영의 방향에 관한 기초지식과 정보를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study seeks to address effective online learning methods in the post-COVID-19 era through the advantages and disadvantages of online/on-off mixed learning at campus universities. Methods In order to strategically perform this study, 52 students’ essays were analyzed. Results As a result, the positive aspects of online learning perceived by students were ‘opportunity to participate in learning that transcends time and space’ and ‘deepen understanding through repetition’. On the other hand, the negative aspects of online learning experienced were lack of support for physical resources (i.e. poor working environment, instability of online systems, lack of IT equipment, etc.) and low academic motivation/participation. In particular, the main causes of the decline in motivation/participation were ‘idleness due to prolonged’, ‘difficulty finding a suitable study environment’, ‘self-studying’, ‘limited social interaction. On-off mixed learning (e.g. blended learning, zoom meeting class etc.) was preferred by students in terms of being able to interact with people. However, it was difficult for students to participate in learning because various on-off mixed classes(e.g. face-to face, blended, zoom class etc.) were held at the same time. Conclusions The knowledge gained from this result serves to support academic affairs professionals in colleges with regard to the design of online/on-offline services for post-COVID-19 education.
