프로파일 분석에 기반한 초등교사 경력별 수업전문성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등교사의 6단계 경력(0-4년, 5-9년, 10-14년, 15-19년, 20-24년, 25년 이상)에 따라 수업전문성이 어떻게 다른지 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 수업관찰 전문가들이 2017년부터 2019년 4월까지 ICALT 수업관찰 도구를 활용하여 직접 관찰한 수업 283건을 다차원척도법을 사용한 프로파일 분석을 활용하여 분석하였다. 주요 분석결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, PAMS 분석결과, 초등교사의 대표적 프로파일은 2개 차원에서 ‘수업관리형’과 ‘학생맞춤형’으로 나타났으며 개인모수에 있어 유의한 차이를 발견할 수 있었다. 둘째, ‘학생맞춤형’에 대한 유사성지수와 학생참여 간에는 유의한 상관이 있었으나, ‘수업관리형’에 대한 유사성지수와 학생참여 간 상관은 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 경력별로 수업전문성에 관한 프로파일을 추출한 결과 경력별로 다른 양상을 확인할 수 있었다. 기술통계 분석결과, 다른 경력집단들에 비해 10-14년과 20-24년 경력교사 집단의 전문성 수준이 전반적으로 높았다. 반면 25년 이상 경력교사 집단은 상대적으로 난이도가 높은 전문성을 요구하는 영역의 수준이 높게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과, 수업전문성을 다룬 선행연구들과 달리, 20-24년 경력교사들이 수업전문성에 한해서는 그 수준이 가장 높았으며, 높은 난이도가 요구되는 영역에서의 수업전문성이 높을 때 학생참여 또한 높아지는 경향이 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore how elementary school teachers teaching skill development differs according to six levels of career (0-4, 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25 years and above) by using PAMS(Profile Analysis via Multidimensional Scaling) method. This study analyzed 283 lessons of 283 primary school teachers that were observed by classroom observation experts using the ICALT class observation tool from 2017 to April 2019. The main analysis results were as follows. First, as a result of PAMS, the representative profiles of elementary school teachers were two: class management type and student-centered type , and significant differences were found in the individual parameters. Second, there was a significant correlation between the similarity index for student-centered type and student participation, but the correlation between the similarity index for class management-type and student participation was not significant. Third, the profiles of teaching skills by carrer showed different patterns individually. The level of teaching skills in the group of 10-14 teaching career years and that of 20-24 years was generally higher than that in other career groups. Teachers with more than 25 years of experience had a high level of expertise while the teaching performance level for lower domain was low. This study showed that the group of 20-24 career years could have the highest teaching skills while most previous studies did not and higher level of teaching domain drove higher students’ participation.
