어린이집 교사와 부모의 위험에 대한 태도와 위험성 감수놀이에 대한 허용도 차이

국문 초록

영유아가 위험에 대해 배우는 방법은 직접적인 경험뿐만 아니라 성인의 위험에 대한 태도를 통해서도 배운다. 본 연구는 어린이집 교사와 부모의 위험에 대한 태도와 위험성 감수놀이에 대한 허용도의 차이를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기지역 어린이집 교사 461명과 부모 430명 총 891명을 연구대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 SPSS 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 위험에 대한 태도는 교사가 부모보다 위험을 감수하고자 하는 경향이 높았다. 교사는 일반적 배경에 따라 위험에 대한 태도의 차이가 없었으나, 부모는 아버지와 어머니의 구분에서만 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 위험성 감수놀이에 대한 허용도는 부모가 교사보다 높았다. 교사는 연령, 학력, 담당연령, 결혼유무에 따라, 부모는 아버지와 어머니, 결혼연수, 자녀수, 자녀성별, 자녀연령에 따라 위험성 감수놀이에 대한 허용도에 차이가 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 어린이집 교사와 부모의 위험에 대한 태도와 위험성 감수놀이에 대한 견해 차이를 확인하여 이러한 놀이의 중요성과 가치에 대해 알도록 지원하는 교사교육 및 부모교육의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Children learn about risk not only from direct experience but also from adults’ attitudes toward risk. This paper examines attitudes of child care teachers and parents toward risk and differences in their tolerance levels towards risk-taking plays. A survey has been conducted targeting 891 individuals, 461 child care teachers and 430 parents in Seoul and the Gyeonggi region in specific, as the subjects of this study and the survey results were analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of the analysis showed that, first, the teachers tend to be more risk-seeking than the parents. While differences in general backgrounds caused no difference in attitudes towards risk among the teachers, they led to differences between the mothers and fathers in their risk-regarding attitudes. Second, the parents displayed higher tolerance levels towards risk-taking plays than the teachers. The tolerance levels displayed by the teachers varied according to their ages, levels of education, the age levels of the class for which they are responsible and their marriage statuses, while those displayed by the parents varied according to their sexes, lengths of marriage and the number, sexes and ages of their children. The results of this study are expected to serve as the basis for education for teachers and parents regarding the importance and value of risk-taking methods of play participation by confirming the differences between child care teachers and parents in their attitudes towards risk and risk-taking plays.
