여성결혼이민자의 관형절과 관형사형 어미 사용 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 여성결혼이민자의 관형절 및 관형사형 전성어미 사용 양상을 살피고, 이후 교실 내 학습자와 비교·논의를 통해서 언어 습득 환경에 따른 차이점을 밝히는 것이다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 여성결혼이민자를 위한 언어 교육이 나아가야 할 방향성을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 2017년 약 8개월 동안 D도시의 건강가정 다문화가족 지원센터의 한국어교실에서 약 40명을 대상으로 쓰기 자료를 수집하였다. 이후 여성 결혼이민자의 숙달도와 거주기간을 고려하여, 총 7명을 선정하였고 이들의 산출한 쓰기 작문 자료를 말뭉치로 구축하였다. 연구 결과, 여성결혼이민자의 거주기간과 학습시간이 길어도 여전히 관형절 사용 에서 여전히 교실 내 학습자와 비교했을 때, 초급 수준이었다. 더욱이 수식 기능의 관형절 중에서 동격관형절은 거의 습득이 이루어지지 않았다. 이러한 연구 결과가 의미하는 바는 크게 두 가지로, 첫째, 여성결혼이민자는 교실 학습 경험이 존재해도, 여성결혼이민자는 관형절을 산출하여 문장의 복잡성을 향상시키는 데 한계가 있음을 보여준다. 둘째, 그동안 여성결혼이민자 대상 한국어 교육이 의사소통이 가능한 것에만 초점을 둔 교육 목표 및 교육 과정의 한계를 의미한다. 그러므로 복잡성 및정확성을 향상을 할 수 있도록 하는 교육 과정의 목표가 재설정 되어야 하며, 이주 생애의 주기에 따른 맞춤형 언어 교육 과정이 개발되어야 할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study was made with writings of immigrants collected for 8 months, and it focused on the analysis of the use of relative clauses and abdominal endings in their intermediate language. The comparison between the results of the analysis and the discussion of other studies, the use of relative clauses, among various types of embedded sentences, was still at an elementary level even with a long period of residence or education. In other words, even if immigrants participate in Korean lessons at the Multicultural Family Support Center for a long period, they are not very accurate in making complex sentences and they tend to have a very limited knowledge especially about appositive relative clauses among various types of relative clauses acting modifiers. The results of this study could have two significances. First, as for immigrants, even if they take formal lessons, most of them acquire Korean through speaking so they cannot fully create relative and complicated clauses. Second, the existing Korean language lessons for immigrants are focused on speakers with Korean as their mother language and communication so they have limitations. Therefore, Korean language lessons for immigrants should not solely focus on communication, but also aim at improving their Korean to a level of native speakers in terms of complexity and accuracy so they could possibly acquire the position or role of Korean citizens.
