초등학생 대상 자아존중감 향상 프로그램 개발 연구의 도덕교육적 의의

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 초등학생 대상 자아 존중감 향상 프로그램을 개발 및 적용하고, 그것의 도덕교육적 의의를 탐색하는 데 있다. 방법 초등학교 3~5학년 학생 226명을 대상으로 자아존중감 향상 프로그램을 운영하고, 그것의 유의미성을 t검정을 통해 도출하였다. 이를 통해 도덕교육적 의의를 밝히고자 하였다. 결과 3~5학년을 대상으로 한 자아존중감 향상 프로그램은 대체로 유의한 결과를 도출하였다. 그러나 자아존중이 타인존중으로 이어지는 교육을 하기 위해서는 더 많은 연구가 필요할 것으로 보인다. 자아존중감 향상 프로그램이 유의미하게 운영되기 위해서는 안정되고 연속적인 수업 시수의 확보가 반드시 필요하다. 또한 자아존중감 향상을 위한 공인된 교육과정이 필요하다. 도덕교과는 학생들의 인성 교육, 민주시민 교육의 중추가 되는 교과인 만큼 자아존중감 향상을 위한 교육과 그것이 타인 존중으로 확장될 수 있는 현장중심적인 교육방안을 연구할 필요가 있다. 결론 본 연구를 통해 수행된 초등학생 대상 자아존중감 향상 프로그램은 학생들에게 대체로 유의한 경험을 제공하였다. 이러한 유의한 자아존중감 프로그램이 학교 현장에 일반화되기 위해서는 안정적인 수업 시수를 바탕으로 한 교육과정이 필요하며, 학생들의 인성 교육과 민주시민 교육의 중심이 되는 도덕 교과를 통해 이러한 문제를 해소할 것을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to develop and apply a self-esteem improvement program for elementary school students, and to explore its moral educational significance. Methods This study operated a self-esteem improvement program for 226 students in the 3rd to 5th grades of elementary school and derived its significance through t-test. In addition, it was intended to clarify the significance of moral education through this. Results The self-esteem improvement program for 3rd to 5th graders generally produced significant results. However, more research is needed to ensure that self-esteem leads to respect for others. In order for the self- esteem improvement program to be significantly operated, it is essential to secure a stable and continuous number of classes. In addition, an authorized curriculum is needed to improve self-esteem. As moral subjects are the backbone of students' personality education and democratic citizenship education, it is necessary to study education to improve self-reliance and field-oriented education methods that can be expanded to respect others. Conclusions The self-esteem improvement program for elementary school students conducted through this study generally provided meaningful experiences to students. In order for such a significant self-esteem program to be generalized to the school field, a stable curriculum based on the number of classes is needed, and it is suggested to solve this problem through moral subjects that are the center of students' personality education and democratic citizenship education.
