국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 아동기에 형제사고를 목격한 트라우마 경험이 자녀양육에 미치는 영향과 의미를 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위해 연구자의 주관적인 경험을 바탕으로 자신의 시점에서 서술하고 자료를 수집⋅분석하는 개인 내부자적 관점을 강조하는 자문화기술지(auto-ethnography), 그 중에서도 연구자 개인의 경험을 보다 심층적이고 다양한 시각에서 분석하기 위해 협력적 자문화기술지(a collaborative autoethnography) 연구 방법을 채택하였다. 결과 연구결과 첫째, 아동기에 형제사고를 목격한 트라우마로 인해 만성적인 죄책감이 내면화되어 왜곡된 사고가 잘못 형성되었으며 심리적인 문제로까지 나타났다. 둘째, 형제사고를 목격한 트라우마는 부정적인 정서가 아동기에서 끝나지 않고 자녀를 양육하는 과정에서도 나타났다. 이로 인해 미해결 감정으로 인한 신념이 자녀에게 안정적인 애착형성과 건강한 성장⋅발달에 악영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 전문가들과 함께 작업하는 협력적자문화기술지 연구를 통한 성찰과 자기 고백을 통해 부모⋅자녀 간의 불안애착의 갈등을 해소하고 안전한 유대감과 신뢰를 통해 치유가 되어가는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 결론 본 연구는 형제사고를 목격한 트라우마 경험자가 자녀양육 과정에서 나타난 부정적인 정서 경험과 반응에 대한 영향을 어떻게 극복하는지를 보여주고, 외상 후 성장 경험이 어떠한지를 보여줌으로써 이를 심리코칭과 상담현장에 적용할 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to identify the impact and significance that the trauma of witnessing one’s sibling in an accident during childhood has on the experience of raising children. Methods For this purpose, this study was conducted using the methodology of autoethnography, a qualitative research method that describes psychological experiences in depth from an insider’s point of view. In particular, an approach of collaborative autoethnography was adopted to analyze the researcher’s individual experiences from more in-depth and diverse perspectives. Results The three findings of this study are as follows. First, the results of this study show that chronic guilt was internalized due to the trauma of witnessing a sibling in an accident during childhood, resulting in misinformed thinking and even psychological problems. Second, unresolved emotions and compulsive behaviors springing from the trauma also appeared in the child rearing process. As a result, beliefs due to the unresolved emotions adversely affected stable attachment formation and healthy growth development for their children. Third, the conflicts from anxious attachment between parents and children were resolved and partially healed through a process of reflection and self-confession, which was obtained through the work of collaborative autoethnography. Conclusions This study’s significance lies in showing how people who have trauma from witnessing siblings in accidents overcome the negative emotional experiences and compulsive behaviors in the process of raising children, and providing basic data to the counseling or psychological coaching field by showing what post-traumatic growth experiences are like.
