창작 오페라 <마담 수로>를 통해 본 고전 재창작 스토리텔링의 특성과 의미

국문 초록

본고에서는 <수로부인> 설화와 <마담 수로>의 서사 분석을 통해 <마담 수로>의 스토리텔링 특성과 기법을 고찰하고 그 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 첫째, <수로부인> 설화와 <마담 수로>의 서사를 구조화하고 이들의 특징을 비교 분석하였다. 둘째, <마담 수로>에 나타난 고전 재창작 스토리텔링의 특성과 의미를 크게 세 가지 차원에서 살펴보았다. 캐릭터 및 캐릭터 구도의 변화를 통한 서사의 인과성 강화의 특성, ‘희생’ 모티프의 중층적 배치 및 전이를 통한 긍정적 가치 제시, 오페라 장르의 특질을 반영한 스토리텔링 기법 활용이 그것이다. <마담 수로>에 대한 고찰과 분석을 토대로 고전 서사를 재해석, 재창작한 현대의 문화콘텐츠에서 발견할 수 있는 의미를 탐색하고, 더 나아가 고전 서사를 활용한 문화콘텐츠 스토리텔링 기법 연구에 대한 일정 부분의 기여를 기대할 수 있다.

영문 초록

In this study, through the narrative analysis of “Suro-Booin” and “Madam Suro”, the characteristicsand techniques of storytelling of Madame Suro were reviewed and the meaning was explored. To this end, first, the narrative of “Suro-Booin” and “Madam Suro” was structured and theircharacteristics were compared and analyzed. Second, the characteristics and meaning of classicalrecreational storytelling in “Madam Suro” were examined in three main dimensions. These includestrengthening the causality of narratives through changes in character and character composition,presenting positive values through the interlayer placement and transition of “sacrifice” motifs,and using storytelling techniques that reflect the characteristics of the opera genre. Based on theconsideration and analysis of “Madam Suro”, we can explore the meaning that can be found inmodern cultural contents that reinterpreted and recreated classical narratives, and further expectsome contributions to the study of cultural content storytelling techniques using classical narratives.
