영화 기법을 통해 본 백석 시 연구

국문 초록

오늘날 한국시가 주도적인 매체로 발전한 영화와의 비교를 통한 연구가 시급한 실정에 이르렀다. 이러한 시대적인 요청에 따라 본고에서는 영화의 기법 중 ‘셔레이드 기법’을 도입하여 ｢여우난곬族｣과 ｢木具｣, ｢국수｣를 분석하였다. ‘셔레이드’란 언어를 사용하지 않고 안면 표정이나 소도구를 통해 생각과 마음을 전달하는 것을 말한다. ｢여우난곬族｣에 등장하는 ‘新里고무’의 얼굴과 눈, ‘土山고무’의 입술, ‘큰곬고무’의 코와 눈, ‘삼춘’의 얼굴 표정과1930년대 명절날 평안도에서 재현되었던 “인절미”, “송구떡”, “콩가루차떡” 등의 음식들, 그리고 그 음식이 담긴그릇들을 ‘셔레이드’로 보여줌으로써 친족공동체의 모습을 볼 수 있다. 다음으로, 시 ｢木具｣에 등장하는 ‘늙은 제관’과 ‘손자’, ‘나’, ‘할아버지’ 등의 인물과 “떡”, “보탕”, “산적” 등의음식과 이 음식이 담긴 ‘木具’를 셔레이드로 하나씩 보여주면, 제삿날 조상들을 기리는 슬픔이 배가될 것이다. 마지막으로, ｢국수｣에 등장하는 인물로는 아이들, 어머니, 이 마을의 으젓한 사람들 등 ｢여우난곬族｣에 비해,수도 적고 덜 구체적이다. ｢국수｣는 백석이 음식 이름을 소재로 삼고 쓴 유일한 시다. 겨울밤 익은 “동티미국”과“얼얼한 댕추가루”, “산꿩의 고기” 등의 음식과 ‘국수틀’, ‘왕사발’, ‘새끼사발’ 등의 소도구들을 ‘셔레이드’로 보여주면, 극적인 긴장감을 전달할 수 있다. 여기서 백석 시의 근간을 이루는 것 중 하나는 공동체의식이다. 백석 시에 녹아 있는 언어적 표현을 넘어선 비언어적인 것들, 인물이라든가 음식, 그 음식이 담긴 그릇들 속에 내재되어 있는 공동체의식을 드러내는 데 적합한것이 바로 ‘셔레이드 기법’이다. 여기에 영화 기법인 ‘셔레이드’를 통해 백석 시에 담긴 민족적 연대감과 공동체의식을 부각시킬 수 있는 방향으로 나아가는 게 중요하며, 영화 기법을 통해 본 백석 시에 대한 새로운 의미가 추출될 것이다.

영문 초록

Studying Korean poetry in comparison to film, which has become one of the most important forms of media today, is urgent. In response to this current need, this study examined 「Yeowoonangol Family」, 「Mokgu」 and 「Noodle」 using the charade technique, a cinematic technique. ‘Charade’ refers to the delivery of thoughts and minds without using language, and only through facial expressions and props. In 「Yeowoonangol Family」, it can be used to examine ‘Sinri Aunt’s facial expressions and eyes, ‘Toshan Aunt’s lips, ‘Keungol Aunt’s nose and eyes, ‘the uncle’s facial expressions, the festive food items of Pyeongan-do in the 1930s including “Injeolmi,” “Songgu- ddeok,” and “Konggarucha-ddeok,” and the bowls that held the food. And you can see the kinship community by showing figures in ‘charade’. Next, when looking at the ‘Old Priest’, ‘Grandson’, ‘I’ and ‘Grandfather’, along with “Ddeok(rice cake)”, “Botang” and “Sanjeok” in the poem Mokgu with the charade technique, the effect of the sorrow of honoring one’s ancestors on the memorial day will double. Lastly, the characters in the poem 「Noodle」 consist of children, mothers, and the gentle people of the village. In comparison to 「Yeowoonangol Family」, the portrayal of characters in 「Noodle」 is less detailed and fewer. 「Noodle」 is Baek Seok’s only poem based on a food name. When the winter delicacies, like that of “dongtimi soup”, “spicy dengchu powder” and “wild pheasant meat” are portrayed in the context of a charade with props like ‘noodle frame’, ‘big bowl’ and ‘mini bowl’, dramatic tension is piqued. One of the foundational pillars of Baek Seok’s poetry is this community consciousness. Beyond the linguistic expression immersed in his poetry, the charade technique is most equivalent to portraying the community consciousness retained in nonverbal features including characters, foods, and bowls. It is important to note that through charade, a cinematic technique, the sense of national solidarity and community consciousness of Baek Seok’s poetry can be highlighted and new meanings for his poems can be derived through the lens of cinematic techniques.
