무라이 미노루(村井実)의 교육관에서 해석한 학습자 중심의 학교무용교육의 가치

국문 초록

본 연구는 학교무용교육을 학습자 중심 교과교육으로 구상하는 것이 어떠한 가치가 있는지에 대해 이론적으로 고찰하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해, 교육이란 언제나 ｢선함(善さ)｣을 구(求)하며 살고 있는 인간이 보다 나은 ｢선함(善さ)｣의 판단을 할 수 있도록 돕는 것이라고 정의한 무라이 미노루(村井実)의 이론을 채용하였다. 무용은 감정과 생각 등 자신의 내면을 몸을 통해 외부로 표현하는 것이다. 이를 교육하기 위해서는 표현의 근원 즉, 무라이(村井)가 말하는 내면의 ｢선함(善さ)의 구조｣에 대해 이해할 필요가 있다. 무라이(村井)에 의하면 인간의 내면에는 본래 4가지의 요구(상호성, 효용성, 無모순성, 美(조화)에 대한 요구)가 갖추어져 있으며 그것들이 모두 만족되었을 경우 인간은 ｢선하다(善い)｣라고 판단한다. 학습자 중심의 교육이라는 관점에서 무라이(村井)의 이론을 보면, 무라이(村井)가 말하는 ｢보다 선하게(善く) 살기 위한｣가장 이상적인 학습 조건이 학습자 중심 교과 교육이 된다. 그렇다면 학습자 중심의 학교무용교육에 있어서 4가지의 요구가 어떻게 만족되는가. 본 논문에서는 ‘탈춤’ 수업의 분석을 통해 이 문제를 고찰하였다. 그 결과 학습자의 표현은 ｢선함(善さ)｣의 4가지 요구가 모두 만족되어 나타난 자신만의 움직임인 것으로 해석되었다. 학교무용교육은 학습자의 모든 표현에 대한 가치존중이 기본 전제이다. 그러므로 학습자 내면의 ｢선함(善さ)의 구조｣를 기초로 한 무라이(村井)의 교육 이론을 도입함으로써 학교무용교육은 학습자 중심의 교과교육으로서 충분한 가치를 지닌다.

영문 초록

The research aims to consider what is the value of designing school dance education as a learner-centered curriculum in a theoretical perspective. To this end, the education theory of Minoru MURAI was adopted to the paper; education helps humans who always seek for “Goodness”, which enables them to make an even better judgement of “Goodness”. Dance expresses one s inner self such as emotions and thoughts, through the body. Therefore, in order to educate it, it is necessary to understand the source of the expression, specifically where Murai states it as the inner “structure of Goodness”. According to Murai, there are four basic demands humans possess inside; interconnection, utility, non-contradictoriness, and harmony. If they are all satisfied, humans are judged to be “Good”. Looking at Murai’s theory in the perspective of a learner-centered curriculum, the most ideal learning condition which Murai calls as a condition “to live better”, becomes a learner-centered curriculum. If so, how are the four basic demands satisfied in the curriculum of learner-centered school dance education? This paper examines this issue through an analysis of mask dance(Talchum) class. As a result, expressions of the learners were interpreted as their own unique movement which resulted from the satisfaction of all four demands of “Goodness”. In addition, respecting the value of all different expressions of the learner is the basis of school dance education. Therefore, school dance education has a sufficient value as a learner-centered curriculum by introducing Murai’s education theory based on the “structure of goodness”.
