교사의 관점에서 상실을 경험한 학생과의 상호작용을 위한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 교사가 상실경험이 있는 학생들과 상호작용을 할 때의 어려움과 이를 완화할 수 있는 방법을 탐색함으로써 상실을 경험한 학생들이 상처를 회복하고 성장하도록 돕는 데에 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 네 명씩 구성된 일곱 개의 초점집단면접을 실시하여 총 28명에 대한 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 교사들이 상실경험이 있는 학생과 상호작용을 할 때 느끼는 어려움은 막막함과 두려움에서 비롯되었다. 막막함은 상실을 경험한 학생에게 어느 정도를 어떻게 지원해야할 지 판단하기 어렵다는 점과 상실을 외부로 드러내는 데에 있어서의 수위를 정하기 어렵다는 점과 관련이 있었다. 두려움은 교사가 의도하지 않게 2차 가해자가 될 수 있다는 점과 시간부족으로 인해 내적 갈등이 생기거나 번아웃될 수 있다는 걱정에서 비롯되었다. 이러한 어려움을 완화하기 위하여 교사들은 막막함을 해소하기 위해 상실과 관련한 구체적인 정보나 자료가 제공될 필요가 있다고 생각했다. 또한, 두려움 해소를 위하여 학생을 둘러싼 환경에 있는 모든 어른들이 연계되어 유기적으로 함께 돌보는 통합적인 지원체계가 구축된다면 도움이 될 것이라고 보았다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 교사들이 상실을 경험한 학생들과 상호작용을 하는 데에 있어서 논의 사항을 제시하고 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 밝혔다.

영문 초록

The study aims to explore the difficulties and helpful points of interaction with students who have experienced loss from the teacher s point of view. To this end, interviews with seven focus groups of four teachers (a total of 28 teachers) were conducted for analysis. The results are summarized as follows: The difficulty of teachers interacting with students who have experienced loss is expressed as vagueness and fear. The vagueness is related to the difficulty of determining how much students who have experienced loss should be supported and the difficulty of setting the level in revealing the loss to the outside world. Fear stems from the idea that teachers can unintentionally become secondary perpetrators and that, in reality, conflicts can arise or burn out due to lack of time. To alleviate this difficulty, teachers first thought that specific information or data related to loss needed to be provided to solve the difficulty. Second, fear relief would be helpful if an integrated support system was established in which all adults in the environment surrounding students with loss were connected and cared for organically together. Based on these analysis results, the study discusses what we need to pay attention to in relation to teachers interacting with students who experienced loss and made suggestions for further research.
